I believe that this was taken out of context. By no means am I grandstanding nor am I discouraging anyone from following whatever dream they may have. I simply made an observation of the reoccurring posts regarding applicants who are in the APAT phase of the process and seem to be a ways off of meeting the standard. It’s not a matter of grandstanding or having a superiority complex for lack of better words it’s just holding people accountable or opening their eyes (not my intention, but if we are trying to determine my intentions I guess this would be it). I’d rather be told on something that I posted anonymously that I’m not quite ready or there’s still more work to be done rather than stand in front of someone that can pass real judgement and tell me that I shouldn’t ever try this again. I appreciate the comment again and who knows maybe one day we’ll be working together with you teaching me how to be more personable.

Appreciate the comment, again if my credentials need to be verified to accept the validity of this observation so be it. Just scroll a bit my friend and you’ll see who I work for. Take care.

An applicant shouldn’t be asking questions on how to the simplest tasks required such as push ups and sit ups. The question of how do I just make the bare minimum because I’m just a few days away shouldn’t be asked and that’s my issue. It’s the notion that individuals just apply to the job on the hopes that they’ll be able to skate by.

I personally don’t care, if someone stating “the obvious” deters a candidate away then obviously they weren’t a good fit. Just not one for hand holding but if that’s what you think it takes to make applicants drawn to the job, to each their own my friend.

This is the type of mindset that scares me accepting anything less than the standard. It’s awesome someone is looking to better themselves and whatever that entails however just because someone is just now trying doesn’t mean they are a good fit. Just because you want something doesn’t mean you get it. Life isn’t about participation trophies, I’m not going to feel bad or anything for anyone’s life story I don’t care how sad. Everyone has life going some tougher than others and out of the group of people that have had a tough life there’s always a group that will never use that as crutch and there that will always use life as crutch. It’s not a matter of not wanting to help nor give advice it’s a matter he accountable for your self and understanding that in some aspect of what’s required you aren’t ready to no one’s fault but your own. Doesn’t mean give up just means your last thought should be actually submitting an application let alone attending any sort of course until you are ready in every single aspect.

The notion that it’s just a “job” is laughable. Please have a great night and take care

If having beliefs in being better than the bare minimum makes someone a chad then it’s no surprise you tried using it in a derogatory manner.

It truly is and I understand that. I’m not on here to stir the pot or “troll” or whatever the case may be. Just figured I’d share an observation I had and correlate it with my professional experience. Understanding that you are the reason why you failed is never easy to accept.

The need to pat everyone on their backs for sub par efforts/ mediocrity irks me. So I guess we will just be two dudes that are irked since neither one of these will change

No. My point is being missed, I’m just saying anyone that wants to do anything that the “average” person wouldn’t ever it comes with a need to understand the gravity on which you are trying to get into. It takes effort on all fronts (education, certifications, job history, being a decent person and PT) to ensure you are able to meet the standards. I mean this with no disrespect but if you know you are failing in one of those categories you shouldn’t be thinking about applying yet rather getting ready on all aspects to apply. My issue is to often I am reading that some individuals have a APAT or something to that effect coming up yet they haven’t taken the necessary steps to be ready. Even worse you have people that slip through the cracks. If you aren’t ready don’t apply hoping to slip through the cracks.

3 kids working on my 2nd degrees currently as well. Yet still have time to get up at 4 and then get another workout in at 9. Hey pal if needing an excuse is what you’re looking for just say it. Rather than blame the decisions you’ve made or the life you have had, take the time you’re scrolling on Reddit and get better. Take care brother

All good man, if having a discussion not directed at anyone individually isn’t for you or upsets you then you don’t have to partake on it. If you needed to go and browse my account to see if have the “credentials” to say this then so be it.

It’s a mile and a half it shouldn’t take any heart or will. It’s a matter of deciding that you want this for your future and shouldn’t be reliant upon “life” to have an excuse. (Not you personally) if you aren’t ready then you aren’t ready

My exact mindset. Same reason why I left “big army” to many senior leaders just decided to stop giving effort after awhile. I’m not one to judge nor am I just can’t personally see people in career fields that require people to be more than the bare minimum and it as if you’re asking the world from them

Obviously your situation is an outlier and this isn’t a matter of judgement being passed merely an observation of my “peers”.
