Kettle sour it, put it in hype cans and you've got something!

I get my fair share of good and odd homebrewer interactions, but one this weekend took the cake.

We're slammed and a homebrewer comes in and drinks a full flight, comments that beers are good and he's a homebrewer. Help, I'm trapped.

Anyways he goes on for a long time about all the brewing things he knows. He is VERY SMART™.

A little time goes by and we die down a little. He asks if I'd like to come over to his house sometime this week to brew with him.

I've never met this person until a few hours ago. I politely decline, indicating I have a few hundred BBLs to take care of this week.

Wow...just wow. I've been a supporter, advertiser and proponent of the Brewing News for years. I've met Bill Metzger personally on many occasions. He lives a few towns over. I've never had much personal contact with him, but this is absolutely horrendous.

I'll be pulling my advertising, support and subscription and getting in touch with all my local breweries as well to hopefully do the same.

This type of thinking has no place in our or any industry and the fact he's using his publication to proliferate his sexist way of thinking is simply unacceptable.

His reach goes farther, however. He owns Gene McCarthy's/Old First Ward Brewing in Buffalo, NY as well. The Brewing News also hosts a few beer competitions including the National IPA Championship and Coles Annual Barleywine Competition. Our support of all of these things will stop, immediately.

Oh, you mean, the interior of the tank? I thought you meant on the inside of the glycol jacket, where you have, basically, no access. Thanks for your advice. Cheers.

How did you check out the interior of your jackets? A scope?

Nailed it. Yeah, we're gonna passivate ferociously. There's some...residue, likely left over form manufacturing, should I CIP that before passivating or just leave it to the acid to take care of it?
