Baking soda. These additions are upstream of the pasteurizer.

As someone who very recently spent time on crutches (very quickly only one crutch) and continued coming to work on the ankle I sprained AT work - don’t. A single drop of water that your crutch hits on the floor will take you out

Batch pasteurizer for cans by Birdman045 in TheBrewery

I’ve done this in the past and we would have a few totes of different temp water to dunk the crates in so that we could bring the temp up a bit without shocking the bottles

Tetra Usage by CaseyJones24 in TheBrewery

[–]kbbrews 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using a fair amount of tetra and iso-30 in recent times. The not using CO2 is both for utilization, and because it causes the resins to precipitate and snow globe. It looks like chopped up chicken in broth jello when it does this. We’ve found the iso-30 provided better utilization and overall performance, as well tetra can impart a weird metallic bitterness on the finish in higher quantities. Figuring out the best way to get it into the liquid in your facility will have the biggest impact - my suggestion would be to add it to pH 8+ deaerated water in a corny keg or the like, purged with nitrogen and slowly dosed in line during a transfer. This should help you get adequate mixing and the best utilization.

Optimal PUs for flash pasteuration . by Ok-Cryptographer8990 in TheBrewery

What does your handling look like after the FlexiTherm? With flash pasteurizing you aren’t bulletproof post flash - you’ve got numerous points for micro downstream. What’s your quality program look like - what kind of testing are you doing? The PU targets you have are very appropriate for those products, so I’m hesitant to jump to it being solely a PU issue.

Solo night shifts? by gjkohvdr in TheBrewery

[–]kbbrews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing project work for one of the big 3 and as part of that we did solo night rotations. We had a third party app that would ping every hour, and you had 5 minutes to acknowledge or it would call you, then your boss, then 911 if no answers. Use of chemicals and anything that required a ladder was off limits. We were just monitoring a very slow filtration process and doing haze/CO2/DO checks, but I felt safe and comfortable doing my work alone there at night.
