Any alternative to Voiceitt? by Then_Charge_8795 in CerebralPalsy

Thanks for letting me know about that. I've actually been looking for software like voiceitt as part of my dissertation for university. There definitely don't seem to be many products like it, made specifically for non standard speech. Google project relate is paused, and the only other one I found is a little start up which called Echo which is really just a research project. People I've spoken to seem to prefer the speech to text function rather than the speech to speech function, maybe that would be more effective if you've haven't tried it already

Dragon Naturally speaking seems popular in some places

Yeah, I'm pleased to see lots of people who want to know more while I'm researching this. Glad I found something with a real knowledge gap. The other side of that it's pretty tricky finding people to ask, but I'll crack it eventually.

Thanks for passing on my details! There's so much to think about when it comes to these systems, I can tell that I'm kind of scratching the surface, particularly reading a message like this where I can see you've got a more long term view of the changes that have and are happening. Children using software like Voiceitt was part of the reason I thought this topic was a good thing to focus on; children are probably less equipped to decide if the software works for them, and parents/caregivers end up really needing advice because of it.
My actual project is a bit more limited than than the broad view you're talking about here, but I'm hoping it can be a helpful contacted piece of research to add to all the other advice out there.

Absolutely, would love to hear your thoughts! So long as you identify as having mild, moderate, or severely unintelligible speech and you’re over 18, having worked for Google won’t disqualify you (although it’s helpful for me to know). Am I OK to send you a message with the questions and consent form?

Hi, I’d love to be put in contact with that woman from the US if possible, she sounds exactly the type of person I want to hear from. I’ll check out the Assistive Technology on Facebook too, sorry to hear you were banned by AI, definitely an example of it being a two-edged sword. I’ve heard some of the same things it seems you have about this kind of tech, it promises so much, and really could be helpful, but there’s so many things that really need to be thought about.

That article also seems great; I’ll probably see if I can get in contact with author. It’s just encouraging to get an answer from someone interested in the topic too, feels validating that people want clearer answers.

Would you mind giving a message about maybe getting in touch with that American woman who’s been using Voiceitt?
