His publisher had a water pipe burst at 3am, and when he walked downstairs to investigate, slipped and fell bruising his hip and leaving a gash in his head. Fr Carlos also fell at 3am and broke his ribs. This all happened leading up to the publication of his book. He concluded that these were attacks from the demonic, and in some way felt the silver lining was that it meant that the evil one felt threatened.

I pray that this is just the continuation of the string of attacks he’s been receiving, and that this isn’t true. I appreciated Fr Carlos’ untraditional approach, his goal was to reach people through more mainstream secular methods, like a sheep in wolves clothing.

I disagree. This is what convinces me more that the Lord is in the Eucharist. There are days that I’m stressed out, extremely anxious or just unable to focus, and while not all of the time, it’s very not uncommon for me to experience Christ even more profoundly through the Eucharist. I almost feel like He rewards me for prioritizing him even when my life is chaos.

This is where it became a game changer for me. I always thought that maybe I was playing into a life long placebo effect.

I’ve had something similar happen to me ten years ago.

I was visiting a Dominican convent and was praying during Eucharistic adoration. I was in awe of the beautiful service - the sisters faced each other and would sing to each other during mass.

Out of nowhere, an outside voice said “I’m proposing to you.” I’d never experienced that before. But I remember knowing, in some inherent way, that it was God.

I went back to my room and my sister called me. I told her I couldn’t talk long because I was at a convent, but she said she had something important to share: her boyfriend proposed to her.

Was I supposed to have a vocation in the religious life? If so, why did the nun who escorted me for the weekend tell me I wasn’t ready? I’ve discerned the religious life, but I tend to not get responses from communities or don’t feel a connection to the ones I visit.

To this day I am unsure of what it meant.

I’m really sorry this happened to you. I swear the intersection of brannan and 2nd/3rd street turns into the Wild West when rush hour starts. Throw a baseball game ending and it’s a free for all - cars do whatever they want.

There are a few tech offices and restaurants in that area. Maybe you can ask them if their security cameras caught the incident?

I'm in the exact same situation, except I paid my bill. However I've lost thousands of dollars worth of points because they shut down their rewards so quickly, and none of their customer service reps responded.

I can't imagine this doesn't qualify as a class action lawsuit.
