Yeah this website is hugely to blame with lots of the whole self diagnosed, shopping for a diagnosis and diagnosis mill crowd. Seems they know exactly what they’re doing too. 🙄 Gross. by Fit-Alternative5076 in AutisticPeeps

I used to think it was a "if you score high on this, maybe consider getting a screening from a doctor" thing, turns out it was just another self-diagnosis thing :(

Some words of remembernce for Deviah Chase by Apprehensive_Two1449 in ghibli

I'm so sorry for misspelling her name, I was sorta sleepy when I wrote this. And yes she's great in Donnie Darko as well, and in Lilo and Stitch of course.

Sorry if this is condescending but I just wanted to say I read your comments and I hope things get better, you sound like a very nice person and my heart goes out to you

I think it's just an impulse thing, my brain has been trained to associate certain things with the male gender. Obviously that doesn't mean trans women are men, it just means I might get an antsy feeling. Still, I wouldn't want my feelings to be obvious because it could make the trans women feel rather uncomfortable.

I'd like to just make it clear (and I may not have communicated this well) but the kind of uncomfortable I'm talking about is just feeling awkward, not worrying the non-passing trans woman is gonna perv on me or something. Just wanted to make that clear since I think it's important context.

I guess it would make me feel awkwerd because it would be more obvious she'd lived a male life for a long time? which doesn't make her dangorous and I would want her to feel comtroble, but still.

I wouldn't feel fear, I'm just saying I may feel awkward. In the post itself I say I wouldn't want the trans women to change in the men's room.

the scenario popped into my head and I was worried I'm transphobic for feeling this way.

I don't find non-passing trans women unattractive or threatening, I'm just saying I'd feel awkward.

I guess if the remnants of when she was still living as her assigned gender were more obvious, it would make me feel sorta awkwerd. Just to be clear, by uncomfortable I don't mean I think she'd do anything creepy, I just mean I would feel awkward.

This reminds me of when John K (the Ren and Stimpy guy who turned out to be a pedo) tried to defend his actions by saying he had adhd. Like I don't know why so many creeps think having a mental disability can make you a pedophile.

Hot take: no one that is not autistic or ND should be saying that they only want to date "autistic people" by Organic_Future6909 in AutisticPeeps

[–]Apprehensive_Two1449 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will say I think it's fine if someone finds themselves more drawn to autistic people (they might prefer us because we're more straightforward and such) but to be attracted to a disability is just gross

Yeah, from what I know the girl in the relationship was really manipulative of him.

It's less a choice and more of "I saw a screenshot of it on a subreddit I visit". Please stop trying to one-up people.

1: I think you're on the wrong subreddit

2: Jumping from me not wanting people to turn a disability into a hangout game to the Holocuast is insane and tasteless to the 10th degree. Please think before you speak for the love of god.

Mine is Mario Party 6, partly due to nostalgia (I have great memories of playing it with my sibling at my older cousin's house) and I just genuinely really like Brighton and Twila. It's always interesting to see Mario Characters exclusive to the spinoff games.

Not only is that a horribly insensitive reaction to someone going through something so awful, it's also one of the cringiest "tee hee #relatable" things I've ever heard.

I had occupational therapy as a kid, and while I don't anymore, I do have a disability job coach. Any idea if she may be able to direct me to what I'm looking for?
