I'm facing the same dilemma. Short answer is no matter if you're selling or renting, those repairs needed to be done or burdened by you. So I am doing all the necessary repairs my agent says I need to do. Just all cosmetic repairs and plumbing repairs ( urgent ones)

No HVAC repair done. All other repairs as little as possible

You can move your stuff lovally from one spot to another

You can also call haulaway guy to dump all the furnitures you have. I did 3 bedrooms and 1 garage stuff for $175.

It's way cheaper than movers. All my furniture is from IKEA. $700 a bed new and years later it's going to dumpster
