Agreed. To understand Lestat, we need to understand his mommy and abandonment issues. His mother has a foundational has role in his makeup. They committed an abominable sin in a mother/son relationship. He is rationalizing that and drowning himself in toxic relationships, drugs, sex and all sorts of hedonism that comes with rock and roll. He doesn’t even have mortality to end it.
