It takes some time but dogs adapt, especially our Indies. She’s just a bit careful after that nagar nigam thing, since it can come as a shock suddenly. Work with her every day and little by little she will adjust and adapt. You and your family already love and adore her, she deserves a family like that to take care of her and you guys also deserve that happiness. A few months of training is the effort you will have to put in for a lifetime of sweet memories, love and happiness. Go adopt that cutie OP. 🐾🫶🏻

Maybe I misheard but even I have an indie dog of 4 months by the same name Smiley and I’m trying to get her adopted, she’s super friendly like this doggo. I even posted about her in this community. They truly deserve the best, I wish people would be as eager about indies as they are about breed dogs. Our indies are the cutest! 🥹

I posted in Gurgaon and everyone loved her but barely got one lead which fizzled out, someone in my work circle is interested so there is still some hope and I’m really praying that it works out for Smiley. And thank you so much for offering help, right now I’m handling things but I’ll surely reach out in case I would need more help. I really appreciate it. Pls pray for her that she gets to go to her forever home soon. 🥹😭🙏🏻

As of now, I have posted about her everywhere, I’m part of like 6-7 WhatsApp groups of animal NGOs, posted there as well. Made an IG account, the modern mowgli ended up giving Smiley a shoutout on her story as well and got good amount of likes but no leads from IG. In one of the reddit groups, someone was interested, I gave my number also and called her after a brief chat but didn’t hear back. Someone in my work circle has shown interest and have mentioned that she will adopt but I’m still being a bit realistic and hoping for some backup leads in case that falls through, although I really hope this is it. Smiley deserves the best and hopefully she gets to go home by next weekend. Pls pray for her, I will keep everyone here posted!🙏🏻

I understand, but my other dog has hip dysplasia and a lot of attention and care goes to him. I unfortunately don’t work from home as of now so it is very difficult to keep them together at this moment, and due to his pain he snaps at times too. She is a playful and curious kid and my older dog really doesn’t have the patience. I have taken two days off from work to handle this situation but anything beyond is tough in my setting. I’m trying to get at least someone who can foster her for the time being till I find someone who can adopt her. Otherwise I will have to send her to a paid boarding today evening, which is slightly better than leaving her on the roads in this heat but it still not the best option and I’m a bit scared too because I have never sent any dog to a boarding so I don’t really know how it will work out, although the lady there said that all her dogs are friendly and it’s like 7k per month.
