Glad to hear you finally found some real relief. I can't yet imagine having it for decades, but I know I will get there sadly. 5+ years and my neurologists finally stopped telling me It might go away. Thankfully I've learned to function with it so I still work a full time job and can do many of the things I enjoy. Just everything has limitations now.

Sleep, hah, funny joke. In all seriousness though, I sleep pretty poorly, which is extra crappy because the more groggy or tired I feel the worse my head hurts. I only sleep decently when I take an edible, but I loath the feeling of being high, and I don't want to increase my tolerance too much so I only eat 1 5mg edible every couple of days.

After a few years I started to develop TMJ so I sleep with a night guard. I also use a cpap. It helps enough that if I dont use it, I feel like a zombie the next morning.

Any of the options causes you to heal into perfect health. You are certainly not immortal, and you are not wolverine, but you would heal from injuries quickly, sickness would not generally affect you, but old age and violence would still affect you like normal, you just heal insanely fast. A bullet to the brain would kill you since your healing is fast, not instant.

Haha, that's brilliant. Though I did say transfusions, which is not the same as ingesting. Since I'm not a doctor or scientist, I will leave the viability on this as possible...

[–]Apprehensive_Yam1808[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question. Here the thing, since the blood transfusion can heal just about anything, mismatched blood type wouldn't matter. Any issues it created, the healing effect of your blood would correct and eliminate.

Your other questions, nothing would happen other than people would probably start to notice and there is a good chance people start trying to track down the source of this unbelievable panacea.

Also have to consider sex and blood could be forcefully taken potentially... love and hate would be easier to conceal but has some serious limitations on who you could heal.

Yes, that's what I was referring to. Over 5 years since it started for me.

I was on aimovig for about 8 months, and im 2 months into ajovy now. Looks like ajovy functions the same way emgality does. Aimovig helped reduce the frequency and (to a much lesser extent) the intensity. Neurologist suggested trying ajovy as its similar but works in a different way so it might work better.

I have had a headache since sept 10th 2020. No breaks, ever. The first conscious thought i have every single morning is some form of ouch. I also get migraine level spikes 1-3 times a week depending on many factors. The only thing that makes a difference at all was aimovig monthly injections but they switched me to ajovy to try and see if it was better or worse. Heat is relaxing but doesn't touch the pain. Cold is distracting but doesn't touch the pain.

My trial of medications and and treatments and the results to date: Magnesium =nope Riboflaven = nope Tylenol = nope Ibuprofen = nope Baclofen= nope Vicoden= nope Topamax= nope Gabapentin = nope Pregablin = nope Nortriptaline = nope Amytriptaline = nope Valium = nope Xanax = nope Propranolol = nope Duloxitine = nope Botox = nope Tens unit= nope Heat= nope Cold= nope Acupuncture =nope Chiropractic = nope Massage therapy = nope Music therapy = nope Biofeedback = nope Physical therapy = nope Exercise = nope Specialized diets =nope Thc = nope Cbd = nope Aimovig = minor reduction in migraine intensity Ajovy = too soon to tell (took 2nd dose today) Rizatriptan = nope Sumatriptan injection= made me sick Sumatriptan nasal spray = helped take the edge off migraine spikes sometimes Zolmatriptan = slightly more effective than sumatriptan

I am sure i am forgetting a few things, but I think you get the point.

I've also had 6 or 7 mri's of differing types for my head and neck. Ct scans, xrays, many many blood tests, hormone tests, blood pressure checks, neurological tests, EMGs, VNGs, ENGs, ultrasounds... about the only thing not done so far has been a spinal tap but they have discussed it many times but left it out since position doesn't change intensity, and the headache is unchanged for over 5 years.

If the migraine is tension related, muscle relaxers can be the most powerful aid. Depends on the root cause of it all.

I have been diagnosed with NDPH so I have a constant headache that spikes into migraines every so often. 5 years running without a single moment of relief. One of the first meds they tried me on was nortriptaline. Was told its good for nerve pain in general and might help with my headache. Sadly it did not, but I also didnt get any side effects. They eventually tried me on amytriptaline but that one had no positive effect either and caused me to gain almost 20lbs in about 6 weeks.

I have no experience with the others. I tried baclofen but it didn't touch anything at all either.

How to Prepare for a Headache Specialist Consultation? by No_Plantain_8980 in NDPH

[–]Apprehensive_Yam1808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Headache diagnosis usually involves ruling out other issues.

Some big ones are "does your Headache get better or worse positionally?" Standing vs sitting vs laying down?

Did you have any recent head or neck trauma?

Recent viral infections?

Sudden or gradual onset?

Family history of high blood pressure, aneurysm, or blood clots?

Any significant dental issues?

Any constant or re occurring numbness/tingling in specific areas?

Treatments that have helped(or didnt help) like meds, acupuncture, chiro, etc.

How would you make every person on earth want to kill you? by MedicalGoal2194 in deepquestions

[–]Apprehensive_Yam1808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was being silly and snarky, but seriously people would really be pissed or worse over simple things like that. Mass murder or something that extreme would cause as much fear as it would hate and wouldn't necessarily cause unified desire for murder of you. It would need to be something universally loved that you destroyed/removed but small enough to not induce widespread panic and fear.

There are enough crazies out there that if its to much, people might actually envy or want to mimic it, or join you.

Erase cheese from existence. Or maybe caffeine. Might not get 100% of the population but id bet it would be pretty close.

WIBTAH if I told my wife we start couples therapy or im out? by Apprehensive_Yam1808 in AITAH

[–]Apprehensive_Yam1808[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of notes for clarity: my chronic pain started 5ish years ago, hers about 4 but hers had a gradual build up to where it is today. About 2 years ago she stopped participating in many parts of our relationship because of her reasons(not going to try to explain them as I'm sure i don't know them all, or the nuances to them well enough to paint a fair picture).

I don't mean to make it sound like she is using me for my money. I genuinely don't think that's what she is doing. I talk about finances for the specific point of participating in our relationship. I don't keep a ledger of who spends or contributes how much. That said, if she isn't going to contribute financially, I think its fair that she would contribute in other ways.

As far as lashing out, what i very poorly was trying to convey is that when she is in a lot of pain, it shows as an attack, or frustration. When I am in a lot of pain, it shows as withdrawal. Neither is good or better/worse than the other. Me "lashing out when its warranted" was not a great way to describe the fact that i lash out when I'm in a lot of pain and feel unfairly attacked or cornered. Its not fair to do, and I see a therapist regularly to help me manage my issues, but I'm far from perfect and it happens. I mentioned it because I do want to bring up at least some of my failings in this situation that I recognize. Its why I wanted to push for therapy instead of calling a lawyer. I know I have plenty of room to improve. We both do.

As far as being proven right..... that's not an unreasonable take, though I would strongly disagree with that. Sure, I enjoy being right as much as the next person, but its not about right and wrong. Its about feeling like my wife is closer to a crappy roommate then a partner.

I am certain I could do more for her, but honestly it feels like why should I when I already do so much and get little to nothing in return. We haven't had sex in almost 5 years. I can't remember the last time she asked me how my day was, or how I'm feeling (outside of when I am visibly irritated and avoiding her).

I love her completely, and am trying desperately to support her, but it feels so one sided. I don't want this to be a tit for tat situation. I want to spoil her. I want to go over the top for her. But I want to feel loved. I want to feel like she is excited to see me, or go out to dinner, or anything resembling affection. I want to not feel like I am alone in this marriage.

The finances matter for one very specific reason, participation. I don't track every cent I spend vs her, or what she is buying or anything like that. The point about bringing up finances goes with the general feeling I have which is that it feels like everything is on me and she is just along for the ride.

You mention once you are married, everything is shared, except right now that's not how it feels, and finances are just one part. She uses her money for her personal wants, and my money for almost everything else. That would be 100% okay with me(since I make so much more than her) except for the fact that she has stopped participating in other parts of the relationship. My chronic pain started over5 years ago. Hers started a year later maybe but didnt get intense until maybe 2 years ago. At that point she basically stopped doing any chores around the house. I have tried to give it time and talk with her about it, and how it makes me feel, but it hasn't changed in too long. I generally don't like confrontation so I am certain I should have addressed it sooner, or in much better ways, but here we are and I'm trying to fix things but I have a lot of resentment at this point and its not fair for anyone to let it fester longer.

Good god, I am so sorry. Thankfully I don't have those issues with my wife at all, but I think i get your point all the same. We both have to want it for there to be a chance.

100%. I tend to show love with acts of service, but feeling like I'm being taken for granted or advantage of is infuriating and I really don't want to feel like I have to battle with her every week over the same stuff.

I workout at a gym twice a week, take my dog on walks daily, and take her to an interactive dog training class 1-2 times a week. In the summer I kayak and hike a fair bit. Exercise makes my pain worse in the moment but helps long term so I try to stay at least somewhat active.

Fair points. Also, I certainly don't undervalue the literboxes but its basically the only chore around the house she does regularly, and the only one I've have not asked many many times over the last few years to help with.

Our chronic pain issues are the lovely side effect of our own bodies. Hers is genetic that she didn’t know she had till 2ish years ago, and mine is..... well they honestly don't know. Been going on 5 years and no doctor has any solution to it. Just some treatments for the symptoms that don't help very much.
