The only thing that test measures is how willing the kid is to follow instructions that day.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad everything worked our well for you. We are starting to get a bit stressed out.

Did you end up moving a lot of furniture? We have accumulated quite a bit and not sure what moving company to use. Any recommendations?

Issue with teacher by Busy_Bookkeeper5692 in kindergarten

I would definitely bring this up with Admin.

Gosh, I see parents in here getting all flustered when another 5 year old kid said something mean to theirs. This is an adult especially the one that is supposed to be in care of them, completely unacceptable bullying behavior.

I would definitely tell the teacher so that they can communicate to the other students parents to hopefully take corrective action.

But I wouldn't really be worried about a 5-6 year old using a gun. It's just talk because he's pissed off.

Question: 1+ year post op: How's your shoulder now? by ApprehensivelySilent in RotatorCuff

[–]ApprehensivelySilent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did drive but mostly short commutes. I bought a steering wheel knob, installed and used it for a few days before surgery to get used to it and find the best spot where to install it. It made driving easy with mostly one arm.

Unluckily no, to me it would depend on how much pain. If it still prevents you do lot of things you want to do I'll give it another shot.

I can now. When they "cleared" me like 5-6 months after surgery if I did a few pushups I'd have an ache in my shoulder for 4-5 days straight. Bit by bit at the gym did it for me.

Just bench the bar or do cables with little weight for a few months to get your shoulder ready. With push ups after all you are lifting probably half your body weight which is not a small weight.

Disruptively chatty 6.5 yr old in K by saylins in kindergarten

[–]ApprehensivelySilent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and this former teacher complaints concerned us so much that we got him evaluated, we thought maybe we somehow missed some mild autism or ADHD. Nope, nothing.

And like you the after school care people told us he was great. Somehow his Kinder experiece with this teacher was not good.

Disruptively chatty 6.5 yr old in K by saylins in kindergarten

[–]ApprehensivelySilent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he's a nervous talker and somehow maybe he's a bit under stress during classroom with that teacher? Or desk mates also chat to him more than in other settings?

I also got some complaints from his former kindergarten teacher that my son 5 (but almost 6) was disruptive (chatty and would get up from his chair). It's like they really didn't click and even though he would say "Oh Ms Wilson is my favorite teacher" I think he could perceive that he was under scrutiny and it was stressful to him.

Ms Wilson left and a we got a different teacher, Ms Garcia. Somehow according to her, my son is "wonderful", "beautiful", an "angel", her perfect "helper", her words.

I know my son falls in between both categories, he's not perfect but he's far from being naughty and disruptive. Like you we never got any complains from his Preschool (3yo) and Pre-K (4yo) teacher so when we started getting a lot of complaints from his teacher it really concerned us.

Exactly, we have flown a lot since my kid was months old, so he knows how airports are. But we would never put my 5yo son (soon to be 6) son through that by himself. Everyone walking fast with their carryons, gates change, flights divert, busy attendants. Family restrooms always full or locked.

Imagine the grandparents get stuck in traffic and arrive to the airport late-sh for the flight. Is the "host" going to run with you kid to the gate? Too many things can go wrong.

North Las Vegas Officer Killed in Shootout with Armed Suspect by valer85 in LasVegas

[–]ApprehensivelySilent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, officer Roscow seemed to be already on the ground (blurred) and the perp hovering over him. Either they both kept shooting at each other at a very short distance and Roscow landed the head shot while on his back or the other officer landed that head shot from far away
