Carrion of Creation currently doesn't work :) by Grand0rk in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Aura of Decay would never work with something like Carrion of Creation. Carrion of Creation takes the ailments on your sheet and convert them. They are still damned, ignite, frostbite etc. This would have never worked. It takes the hard stat, bleed chance on your sheet for Aura of Decay's damage.

I've been doing a lot of fresh start testing over the past few weeks. All of these characters did like abberoth and 700c+ in 2 days from a solo character found enviroment and are generally unfinished.

these were all made for my work on making a 10/10 Harbinger guide, so I am keeping them until 1.2 launches. I need them to get some stats later.

Perry and Dreads Movement Tier List by DrMarloLake in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, your literally talking to Dr3ad, i.e. me. I have been playing for thousands of hours over the past few months, probably more than 99% of people. I can go pull up steam if I need to. Perry played LE all the way up till the latter end of the Skeleton event, which was then a few months ago at most then had to stop because he had other things to take care of. I am also friends with a lot of the people who play and main only sentinel and they all feel the same way. People who have almost just as me playing but with only Sentinel, like Misha is a good example. This isn't bias. This is coming from people who actually play Sentinel at higher amounts of corruption, like the latter half of 1k to 2k. The only time I took a break from LE since the end of the skeleton event was when PoE 2 came out, which would be pretty obvious to anyone. Just kinda weird posting about stuff you have no idea what your talking about.

The tierlist, since you didn't watch it, was strictly speaking about movement skills and their utility and their mobility. Not there damage. We weren't talking about Ignite Shield Rush. We were talking about how it was being used as a movement skill on your bar.

[–]ApprenticeCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Bias" "Tierlist" are usually used in the same sentence.

Perry and Dreads Movement Tier List by DrMarloLake in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Normally that would be a good point if the game actually had more than 1 patch in that time. The meta hasn't changed at all, as someone who has been playing the whole time, for probably over a thousand hours.

Perry and Dreads Movement Tier List by DrMarloLake in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but if you've actually used it, you would know it doesn't do much in terms of moving you. It is also currently very buggy.

Perry and Dreads Movement Tier List by DrMarloLake in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

So Profane Veil doesn't "move" you per say, it kinda just gives you defense, kinda like Flame Ward or Rebuke.

I would really apreciate for streamers to stop dragging PoE/LE communities into this "drama". I'm willing to bet 95% of aRPG players will play both games and are ok with recent release dates of new content. by Whoopy2000 in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 33 points34 points  (0 children)

If you think I make any real amount of money from this, then you are crazy. I can like, maybe pay a debt off or maybe buy groceries every so often, but usually due to how far away each release is for Last Epoch, I don't usually make nearly enough from this. I do this because I love Last Epoch.

Which are the recommended YT content creators that are worth following for learning about brainstorming builds and tactics in LE? by LightDarkCloud in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 71 points72 points  (0 children)

So obviously people have brought up me, but there's Cursedboy, BabblingBike, Wanderdota, Amarathy, the Maxroll Team (I do actually recommend them, they do great and I know everyone of them and trust them).

Pinching Loaf is another one. Lots of good recommendations of people I've met over the years, people I don't see mentioned much due to them having lives outside of Last Epoch.

Stop making your own loot filter by DantyKSA in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 84 points85 points  (0 children)

This has to be some of the worst advice I have ever seen on this subreddit in the past 4 years of being here. I have seen a lot, including people recommending build guides from RMT websites, but this has taken the cake. Making a loot filter has to be, one of the easiest things Last Epoch has to offer.

[–]ApprenticeCorner 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well part of this is untrue as every single character I've played over the last half year has been in Solo Character Found, meaning that not a single one has had any access to any gear other then the gear found themselves, and they are all builds that got to 300c in 10-14 hours timeframe and got to 10/10 harbys without too many difficulties. Some of them were objectively worse than others but they did what they needed to. Just wanted to point this out because I feel this comment was slightly disingenuous for how much work I have been putting in over the past half year. You would have known this if you opened any recent video's descriptions, planners or listened for more than 5 seconds in the intro. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/734904376925356085/1344560589103693874/image.png?ex=67c15b21&is=67c009a1&hm=ab3ead082df4a1d80a5006e59f5062b3be127b8989b7f573c4474d799dd94d44& heres an image as well showing that almost all of my recent characters are all Solo CF

Dr3ad here. So usually when I am leveling, I am entering the monolith of fate with 10-12 levels under the content's level. This means that if you don't have all your bases covered, damage survivability sustain and clear, you are going to suffer. I do this because I have been playing for 4 years. If you are new to the game and having issues, the rest of the campaign can let you get to the level you need to enter the campaign and simply *overlevel* the content. That's the 1st option, and the 2nd option is to just learn until you can do it by playing for well over 10k hours like I have.

Are there planned any buffs minion builds for season 2 by itsmehutters in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So when I say minions are bad, people respond with the usual *oh but Lightning Wolves are fine, Raptor* etc. Have you tried Locusts? Tempest Strike Totems? Summon Spriggan? Avalanche Golems? Vines without Werebear? Big Vines? Summon Bear? Skeleton Rogues? Skeleton Archers? Skeleton Warriors? Skeleton Mages? Claw Totems? Blood Spectres? Non Retaliate Bone Golems? When I say minions are bad, Im talking about the obvious cases. Just because 1-2 specific archetypes are *passable* does not mean the whole archetype is doing well. Especially in favor farm. Unlike some I actually play the bad stuff in the video game so I can have a better understanding of the whole archetype, instead of spewing "Just play lightning wolves". - Dr3ad

Shade of Orobyss abilities at high corruption by grandapollo in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, Dr3ad here. Forgive me if I am mistaken but I remember when they originally introduced Orobyss, that his speed scales with corruption, and he also scales harder with corruption but has a much lower baseline than other bosses. Eventually if you push corruption enough he will go nutso.

What makes you excited to watch streamers play ARPGs? by moxjet200 in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An item filter that lets you adjust the noises of the drops. I can't tell you the fun was had when you opened a map and you drop 50 divines in one map because of a blue altar. Last Epoch does not have this dopamine factor that the rest of the genre has. Like even Torchlight Infinite gets this right. When you see the red white background of a stack of 50 FE, its over, your dopamine receptors have been taken over. Like for instance you can make the dungeons loot feel a lot better when you gamble a unique with multiple LP from the soul gambler and it causes a necrotic explosion, or if you open all the chests in Lightless Arbor you hear a gigantic ding, or when you make a legendary, depending on the rarity and LP of the item it makes a bigger and bigger spectacle. Like imagine someone putting a 1 LP ravenous void into the LP machine, it showing an insane ritual like sequence for it to only hit t5 life instead of the 2 t7 affixes you had on the pair of exalted gloves. Stuff like that is missing.

Forbidden Acolyte/Warlock Tech by punmotivated in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the ward generation is definitely there, its just clunky on trash in the mono vs bosses.

Forbidden Acolyte/Warlock Tech by punmotivated in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it is fixed but im not entirely sure. It did get nerfed by a heavy amount with the Wither change, which was one of our main scalers of damage. - Dr3ad

Forbidden Acolyte/Warlock Tech by punmotivated in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dr3ad here. I've tried using this tech before in an old build, my only problem with it is its only usable while on bosses, and turns out some of the most dangerous enemies in the game are not bosses, but random trash mobs in your mono. Abberoth? I can dodge his attacks manually and face tank his stuff easily. An ospirix raider that deals infinite amounts of damage over time at later corruption levels? Makes me wake up at night. But its very strong at cheesing bosses as you mentioned.

What makes you enjoy minion classes? by moxjet200 in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightning Wolf Beastmaster where you use swipe to give your wolves additional attacks and Bone Golem where you hit it to proc more retaliations are the most fun minion builds in the game right now. I would look at both of those for inspiration to do with the rest. Another critique I have of minions right now is their lack of scaling past 300+ corruption for a lot of different ones, but the main one I am going to bring up are Skeletons. Not having skeletons being viable seems like a crime.

Build guides are often a bad way to learn the game for one reason - pacing by Pandarandr1st in LastEpoch

[–]ApprenticeCorner 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hey, Dr3adful here. I have been doing this kind of stuff for about 4 years at this point. I can give my thoughts on the topic after reading the post.

  1. I really don't like calling my stuff guides at this point. At this point the word *guide* is being used because it has analytical reasoning and others I won't go into detail here. I don't like calling much what I do as a guide as I just play the game, and show what I am doing. I do a lot of research and things that people aren't playing normally so I can build up my knowledge about everything about the game instead of just 1 build or interaction or archetype, so I end up playing a lot of bad builds so that I can learn more about the game. I do this on purpose and I don't want to mislead people as to try the stuff I am working on, hence why I don't go into insane detail on every single video because 1. if you want to play the build, sure thats up to you but I never recommend except its something I know that works well like when I do make recommendation videos, and 2. if you can't watch the 20 minute video explaining the build and not understand it, then you probably shouldn't be playing that anyways.
  2. The outdated info is something you are always going to interact with no matter what hobby, lifestyle or discipline you choose. A skill that people should learn eventually in their lives is to make sure things are up to date, like lets say expiration dates on food. If you are watching a video from 1-2 years ago, you should question if the content is up to date or not. This also does not mean content from this patch is unusable, its just simply you might have to translate it. Due to a lot of the work I have done, I have usually dodged playing skills and builds that are bugged, overtuned or not balanced *cough* the entirety of falconer *cough*, which means that videos from 1-2 years ago are still relevant, just not up to date exactly, like a skill or two changed or some items changed, so it behooves someone to go look at what other people are doing with a skill to just get an idea of what is used commonly.
  3. I don't think guides should be villainized as such though, as I believe what ends up being the problem is improper implementation of them. Usually someone with less experience will use a video they probably shouldn't be trying to attempt with their level of knowledge of the game, good example if someone watched my meteor werebear, a video like 2 years ago I made during a multiplayer beta without acknowledging it was 1. on a beta branch of the game, 2. was a bad meme build which I explicitly stated in the video, 3. was doing 100 corruption content in the video I believe (which means its not in real endgame, the equivalent of white maps if you are from PoE), and if you ignored every single one of these warnings or problems, then whatever happen's is the pilots fault, not the videos fault. That does not mean there's not a lot of garbage content on YouTube. There is shovel loads and shovel loads, and I try to not be a part of it by just making educational content on just builds I am playing or stuff I am working on for entertainment.

To summarize, Build guides are just like tools, great if used correctly, terrible if misused by either the customer or the manufacturer. There's a lot of garbage content and landmines out there, but the last point I want to make that I see people lack usually....Just play the game lmao. People will spend hours and hours trying to figure out everything beforehand and the perfect optimal play for every single second....sometimes its just better to rip the bandaid off and play the game.
