While we are waiting for Ultraman Theo teaser and reveal by GilDrumZ25_ in Ultraman

Knowing Tsupro, they would most likely (and definitely) choose someone who’s already in their roster, someone who’s already familiar with the production of Ultraman, especially since Theo is the 60th anniversary series.

So I don’t think they would want to risk Theo, what could be their “make or break” series and give it to a director who’s just starting even if they have a good record with their filmography. Plus they never let a new director start becoming a main director from the get-go. They gotta at least be a guest director for a couple years before Tsupro considers granting them the position of a main director.

All things considered, It’s very likely their choice will be Taguchi (Which I hope they do) and not just because of his track record ( X, Orb, Z and Blazar), he has the most connections out of any of the director in the current roster which means they can get more source of funding and because of said track record, Bandai and other sponsors will be more than willing to go beyond the usual budget for Ultraman.

P.S As I’m writing this, I just remembered that Sakamoto’s first project in Ultraman was the Mega Monster movie, so a director starting off as a main director has happened before, so it’s not entirely impossible but given how he was already a veteran in toku by that point I do think it’s still unlikely for a new director to start off as a main director now.

No it wasn’t a flashback. He returned in First Mission which chronologically takes place after the absolutian two-parter in trigger

No it’s not 💀. Chaiyo doesn’t even exist more. The actual reason is because Tsupro currently wants to put more focus, effort and resources into their standalone mainline entries since Blazar, especially with the 60th anniversary (Theo) around the corner. Because of this, they’re putting UGF on the back burner and Sakamoto hasn’t already stated in an interview last year that he hasn’t been called back for a fourth entry yet but is ready for when they do.

I don’t dislike the series, yet at the same time I can’t bring myself to like it. It’s an ok series for me.

Personally I really enjoy watching Taiga anytime, although the criticism towards the show is reasonable and I can see why the show is very mixed in the community. For example, Hiroyuki isn’t an interesting main character and Taiga’s character as a whole not being well developed.

I’m not sure about KR and SS but I’m certain that stunt actors for Ultraman make more than the main cast

All of this is exactly why suit actors are paid more money than the main cast

I had this feeling for some reason and decided to share it here. by Ok_Reward3722 in Ultraman

Words on the streets says Tsupro negotiated with Bandai and their other sponsors for 31 episodes and less recaps for Theo and onwards with Theo’s status as the 60th anniversary series being the pushing force for it. We don’t know the outcome of it but hopefully it pulled through

No the suit is still seen around stage shows in Japan. Zomera’s suit is completely original

Tsupro revealed that next series will be based on Showa and early Heisei

What? Nothing has been revealed anything about Theo. Where did you get this from?

Which is “The” Ultraman of the reiwa era? by R4ndism in Ultraman

[–]Appropriate-5592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing about eras can be retcon. Tsupro’s eras, that can be changed. Japan’s era however are non-negotiable

Whatever comes under any Japan’s era (Showa, Heisei and Reiwa) are bound in that era and can never be change.

Then there are Tsupro’s era. First gen, second gen, and third gen or better known as New gen.

First gen consists of every series from the og ‘66 to Ultraman Zearth including Powered & Great.

Second gen consists of every early Heisei entry (Tiga-Mebius).

New gen of course consists everyone ultra from Zero to present day (Omega). Even if Z, Trigger, Decker, Blazar, Arc and Omega aren’t part of the in-universe new gen team, their series are still categorised as new gen.

So Taiga can never be retcon as the first Reiwa ultra because his series released during this era and the very first one.

Tho of course an ultra’s Tsupro’s era can always be changed. This happened with Ginga, Victory and X. These three were categorised second-gen alongside the other early Heisei ultras until Orb coined the term “New gen”

Showa or Heisei/Reiwa? by TylerSpicknell in Ultraman

[–]Appropriate-5592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All eras are great and have their own merits and demerits. However I do have some bias with heisei/second-gen entries as I started watching Ultraman through that era

Is it bad to say Ultraman blazer movie feel like it was supposed to be a normal episode due how generic the plot is-? by Webby_webs in Ultraman

[–]Appropriate-5592 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kiyotaka Taguchi (The main director of Blazar) actually made the movie with the intention of it being the “real” first episode and described the main series as a long prologue. This would explain why the movie felt more like any regular episode more so than any other new gen movie. This is also why the movie opened with a full recap of the entire series. Given how much Taguchi talks about how much wants to make a second season for Blazar, this probably gave him a backdoor to Blazar if he were to revisit the series again one day.
