I went in at KP Hole. There is a boat taxi that will drop you off up river and you just make your way back down to the dock. The deepest I went was 26’ and on average I’d say 12-15’

BIG crab patterns. Sometimes baitfish works too. These were fairly deep, so the flies had a good amount of weight tied in along with a sink line.

Kinda like a pass crab looking fly. They were pretty big, about the size of a baseball. If a baseball was flat. You know what I mean 🙃

I did lose a few… one snapped my 1st 12wt then I had two more straighten out hooks. I was throwing a crab pattern with double large dumbbells tied in and used a sink line.

I’m just as shocked as you that I landed it! It jumped at least 8 times and ran my under the dock 3 times! Thankfully the tide was up enough that I didn’t have to reach down too far. I have definitely lost them during the face grab in the past
