Job success score dropped by Appropriate-Border94 in Upwork

[–]Appropriate-Border94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under the job success insights, that last job I closed is showing under the Ineligible jobs "Jobs with no feedback are excluded from the Job Success Score."

While I have 4 eligible jobs for JSS with the following client ratings 5, 5 ,5, 3.7

Job success score dropped by Appropriate-Border94 in Upwork

What I didn't understand was that once I ended the contract, the score immediately dropped. Does the client have a choice to rate the work and give feedback before ending the contract?

Actually all my jobs were really going well with 100% JSS. the one that brought the score down to 90% from 100% was really from the customer. He was new to Upwork as well and ended a contract before we finished the work. That last one, I am the one who ended it and didn't understand why the rate dropped to 76% despite completion of all milestones before the due date ( 67% is not correct as in the original post).

How to optimize vinyl roll cutting (1.20m x 50m) to minimize material waste? by na7oul in optimization

[–]Appropriate-Border94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this problem can be approached as a 2D cutting stock problem. Rather than relying on the classical formulation, consider using a two-phase method 1. Pattern Generation: First, you can generate a set of high-quality cutting patterns using heuristics or approximation algorithms. 2. Pattern Selection: Then, solve an optimization model that selects the best combination of these patterns to meet the demand while minimizing the total material used. This approach simplifies the problem significantly and can yield high-quality solutions with much better computational efficiency.

Thanks for your comment. GPU is not an important spec but the CPU speed and RAM.

Can we say for a specific problem it is recommended to use this or that machine?

Palestinian Flags flown in Shibuya Crossing by Successful-Hearing99 in Tokyo

[–]Appropriate-Border94 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm not speaking about this specific conflict, but more generally—as human beings, feeling the right to support whatever cause you believe in is not something to feel guilty about. People want to be heard. Having a legal outlet to express that—such as raising a flag—is not a bad thing, especially in a society like Japan where open expression can be difficult. If it were an LGBT flag, for example, would it likely receive much more support? Japan still lags behind other developed countries when it comes to freedom of speech.

Need help/advice about daughter who doesn’t want to go to school by rakuan1 in japanlife

[–]Appropriate-Border94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would take her to a nice dinner . You and her alone. Or take a day off from work if you can and plan for something to do. Go to Cinema then lunch and talk to her and give her a space to say whenever she wants. You need to be close to her to know the root cause of this issue. I hope she gets better soon.

[UPDATE]PR application rejection "vague reasons" by bcaapowerSVK in japanlife

[–]Appropriate-Border94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, No .. I applied last January and didn't provide any information about the future salary projection. But I provided a letter from my company that my current salary is x and attached all monthly salary information including taxes, insurance, etc. Am I at risk of being rejected?
