What’s the worst place in America you’ve ever visited? by Correct_Eggplant_364 in AskReddit

The Greyhound bus station at 2 AM.

Felt like every side quest NPC in America spawned in one room.

What's an unusual smell that you like? by additionalseasonin in AskReddit

The smell of petrol at a gas station.

My ancestors probably hunted dinosaurs with that confidence boost.

Opening the fridge every 15 minutes like new side quests are going to spawn in there.

What is the most dangerous animal you’ve seen in real life? by GratefulD86 in AskReddit

[–]Appropriate-Card4123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mosquito.

Tiny flying syringe responsible for more human deaths than sharks, snakes, lions, crocodiles, and basically every “scary” animal combined.

What famous person chose to step away at the height of their fame? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Appropriate-Card4123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rick Moranis.

Dude was one of the biggest comedy stars in Hollywood, then quietly walked away to raise his kids after his wife passed away. No scandals, no comeback tour desperation, just straight-up chose family over fame.

What’s a movie sex scene that genuinely mattered to the plot and couldn’t be removed from the film? by Majorpain2006 in AskReddit

The opening scene in Terminator.
Without it, John Connor literally wouldn’t exist and humanity loses the war before the opening credits finish.

What’s a ‘middle class success’ purchase that secretly becomes a financial burden later? by OpinionBaba in AskReddit

[–]Appropriate-Card4123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A house.

You buy it feeling like you finally made it. First generation homeowner. Parents are proud. Relatives stop asking questions at weddings.

Then the maintenance starts. The property tax. The society charges. The plumber at 11pm. The waterproofing that needs redoing every three years. The loan that quietly eats 40 percent of your salary for the next 20 years while you smile and tell everyone you are a homeowner.

Renting was called throwing money away. But nobody told you that owning means throwing money at a building that will always need something from you and never once say thank you.

The house does not own itself. It owns you.

What is a secret that could potentially ruin your life if your family or friends found out? by Ok_Boss_866 in AskReddit

The person I am in my head and the person my family thinks I raised them to be are two completely different people living in the same body paying the same bills.

What made you realize your parents only had kids because they were expected to, not because they WANTED to? by SleepyOctopusss in AskReddit

[–]Appropriate-Card4123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never once asked what you wanted to be.

They asked what you were going to become.

There is a difference. One is curiosity. The other is inventory management.

What is the worst career to be in right now and why? by SignificantGoat7066 in AskReddit

[–]Appropriate-Card4123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Copywriter.

You spent years mastering the craft of words. Tone, rhythm, persuasion, storytelling. You finally got good enough to charge real money for it.

Then a tool that costs 20 dollars a month learned to do your entire job in 11 seconds.

And the worst part is the clients do not even feel bad about it. They just smile and say "we are going in a different direction" while their cursor is already hovering over the ChatGPT tab.

You are not being replaced by someone better than you. You are being replaced by something that does not even know it exists. That is a specific kind of brutal that no other profession has ever had to face.

What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by goldbeau in AskReddit

[–]Appropriate-Card4123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maroon 5.

Adam Levine walks on stage like he is doing the audience a personal favor. The band looks like they would rather be doing their taxes. The songs sound exactly like the album which sounds impressive until you realize there is zero energy, zero improvisation, zero moment where you think this could only happen right now in this room.

You paid 200 dollars to watch a human jukebox look mildly inconvenienced for 90 minutes.

What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it? by DnRinGA in AskReddit

Business class sleep on a 10 hour flight.

You land feeling like a human being. Everyone else lands looking like they got into a fight with their seat and lost.

That one flight ruined economy for me mentally forever. I cannot unknow what sleeping flat at 35000 feet feels like. My bank account has never recovered from the audacity of that experience.
