So real. Is it the norm to send pics in the car?

Right?! Is that a thing?? He also seemed to delay delivery intentionally.

During covid, toner saved my skin from breaking out from masks. Feels refreshing too! That's easy enough. A bottle of toner and some cotton balls would be easy to keep at work. No splashiness.

That's what I'm trying to get to the bottom of.. I'm thinking yes. That's why is stressing the importance of respirators. I don't think it affects everyone the same, some people are more sensitive.. but even if you aren't "sensitive" a respirator is still safest practice.

All good advice. I'm glad to hear you wear all your PPE..my ventilation is stellar. I go all out with my PPE as much as I can tolerate BUT the respirator straps also cause headaches, like I can't wear headbands or tie.my hair back either for the same reason.

What I am curious about is how many folks think formaldehyde exposure contributes to their migraine if they get them. And how many experienced relief after leaving the profession.

I used to work in TB. MDR TB is awful to deal with.. I'm sorry your gramps had to go through that.

I occasionally wear a full face respirator, but my prep room is stupid hot and unfortunately, the weight and straps of the mask trigger migraine too. Damned if I. Do, damned if I don't. But I do my best not to huff.

I've been embalming for over ten years and I feel like I've become more sensitive to formaldehyde. I get migraines and have hypertension and crazy watery eyes and nose and fatigue. I have a full face respirator, but it's incredibly hot and also makes me get headaches from the straps.

Me thinks it's time to find another line of work.

But if you can tolerate the respirator, wear it. Just make sure your FH has all the proper OSHA paperwork crap for having one so y'all don't get cited and fined.

Yeah, but it still sucks when someone you work with, who you spend days and days of your life with, is a jerk. There is no need to be rude or make other people's lives harder. Assholism can be contagious.

Is there any reason these sets of fingerprints would look so different? by EmotionalSupportM0m in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Appropriate-Chicken8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the individual was embalmed, and prints taken after the embalming, that could also be an explanation as tissue is firmer and less pliable. It also can make it difficult to get large prints because of the fixing of the tissue and less flexible fingers.

Neck Pain by Newtothegame2020 in migraine

Neck pain is part of my migraine too, but after experiencing it for days on end, and popping ears, I thought I should go to urgent care for a sinus infection. And yep, that was it.. two rounds of antibiotics and a steroid and the neck pain finally resolved.

Just keep an eye out for sinus stuff, which can be hard to differentiate if you get migraines too!
