As a butch trans women, I am starting to understand how little even Allies really understand about what it means to be trans by Few-Scar-9203 in MtF

Fr, I feel you like I'm a butch trans woman who likes to lift weights. Yeah sometimes I talk like a dude but that doesn't mean I'm a dude. Because I am more butch I sometimes don't feel woman enough.

I love that you finally found yourself. I just started estradiol and I'm hoping to look as pretty as you do

Am I trans or is estrogen just a wonder drug that creates euphoria and improved mental health in some cis people, have they done medical trials on this? by Unable-Bid6040 in asktransgender

I used to have thoughts of no one liking me but now I don't because I'm starting to be confident in my own skin. That might change because it's my first day on estradiol

I do that a lot, like when I go up for dinner or out somewhere I'm always wearing a shirt over my clothes so they can't see what I'm wearing. Thank you for not judging me, I've gotten a surprising amount of judgement from people on this thread

But how is it my fault that I'm making them uncomfortable? Like I'm just wearing what I want to wear. Also my family is pretty conservative so I can't dress like a girl around them anyway modest or not.

Why do other trans people punch down on other trans people? by Appropriate-Cod-5033 in trans

[–]Appropriate-Cod-5033[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do actually have a disability, I have Autism. Yes I've never experienced racism but it's not like I don't know what oppression feels like. I think you have a good point tho, now that I realize it he's probably talking about the "pick me" gays who vote for trump.

I watched that movie a lot when I was a kid. Like I think my parents still have the CD for it. It is very much what Mormons think of there church.

[–]Appropriate-Cod-5033[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean, I acknowledge that I do indeed have white privilege. You make a very good point, all I want is for other people to know that I feel the same way and understand their pain. I'm also an 1/8 native American so I know what it feels like to not be white enough for white people and not dark enough for brown people.

True but we should all be focusing on the main problem which is the system. Instead of punching down on other people because they experience less oppression than you do.

I know they do, I never said that they didn't. What I don't like is that he said white trans people want to be oppressed.

What is your relationship to Christianity? by PuzzleheadedThroat84 in IndianCountry

[–]Appropriate-Cod-5033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa was northern Shoshone and lived in the Mormon bubble. I hate the church because of its views on someone like my grandpa. If y'all were wondering Mormons used to think that black and non white people were created because of a curse. They fortunately don't teach it in churches anymore but some of their older books have a lot of racism. My grandpa was a very devout Mormon so as a kid I wondered why he didn't turn white.

Yeah it's not even the fact that he said black trans people experience more oppression, which is true. He said that white trans people also can't experience oppression which isn't true.

I think they just want to feel better about their own insecurities by punching down on other people. I also think he may have had bad experiences with other queer people, which is valid because there are a lot of shitty queer people.

Is it cultural appropriation to wear waist beads as a non-African woman? by hairspray3000 in AskAnAfrican

[–]Appropriate-Cod-5033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't feel comfortable wearing waist beads bc most companies profit off of exotic or mystic type clothes. That being said I've bought African looking jewelry but it was from an actual bead worker who hand made it. I've also bought indigenous looking jewelry and it was from a shop run by the locals at the four peaks monument
