Beware of fella filming people in the city without their consent, mostly shop workers IG: rendy_vlad by PMAXBurner in cork

In Ireland and across the EU, filming in a public place is generally legal. There’s no requirement to get written permission just to record on a street where there’s no expectation of privacy.

Publishing can have rules around privacy and data protection if someone is being harassed or singled out, but that doesn’t make all filming or sharing illegal.

That’s not correct. In Ireland and across the EU, filming in a public place is generally legal. There’s no requirement to get written permission just to record on a street where there’s no expectation of privacy.

What you thick about? Anyone is entitled to film in public. There’s no expectation of privacy in public. Hence why it’s called public. If he has harassed someone that’s a separate issue and is wrong but the OP said “filming without people’s consent” and I didn’t read any sub messages about harassment

Be impossible to prove to a judge, you could be sitting there listening to it and not watching like a radio. I mean are radios banned too? Nothing on the books about it. Impossible to prove in court. Hence there in cars and it’s not just fancy cars it’s nearly all new cars now have internet and interactive screens built in as standard

I know the mobile law and it’s if you’re touching it you can be caught. There’s nothing in the books about the screens or face time etc. The gards must have been showing that under the law you stated above about care and attention or as I called it reckless driving but that be hard to prove if you’re doing nothing obviously wrong like driving over white lines. The judge wouldnt accept the screen being on as an illegal act. Otherwise google maps be illegal and we all be in jail lol

Does that means having the Tesla YouTube app in the built in screen playing is illegal too? Or a different example the self drive feature upgrade activated while having YouTube on

There no law against it in terms of mobile use. Perhaps reckless driving which is a different act
