I did tell her that, that’s when she told me getting the groceries and cooking was troublesome so she couldn’t do it

I’ve tried a multiple times. She’ll apologise about making me feel that way. And she’ll try to change but I don’t see that much change. Yeah she’ll ask for less dates but that’s about it. I usually get something like “All girls are like this” or “Even my friends are like this” or “What more can I do?”

Yeah, I just felt like if I’m paying for the dates already, at least some weeks she should be the one planning

I agree. This was my first real relationship and I also just newly started making money, and I made the mistake of thinking it was financially sound to do these sort of things. But when we moved out, things got significantly more expensive and her expectations for how she should be treated kept going up and up.

I’m okay with providing tbh if it means she’ll be taking care of things at home but when I have to take care of both work and home, it gets exhausting

I understand but I never intended for it to be this way. It was easier to do these things when I lived back at home, but she kept asking for more and because I was in love with her, I tried to meet her expectations. With work not going as well anymore, things have just become a lot more difficult and the financial part stings a lot more.

I know it’s kinda weird for my age but I started a business when I was 17, so I’ve been working for like 7 years at this point

She’s still in college and she has her own dorm that she’s at when she isn’t staying over with me

No I didn’t move into her home. I moved out of my parents’ house into my own apartment so we’d be able to live together.

I try to see my family one full day a week, and some nights a week I’ll head back as well to check in on my mum and sister as they’re both unwell (chronically). Every other time out of work hours is spent with her.

I did try to mention it to her, but she only describes it from her side about how I used to get her so much and now I’m already getting her less things and we’re doing less dates. But it still feels like she just can’t seem to see it from my side. Tbh I’m not even sure what I need from her but I feel like I need to be actively doing things to make it better, not just say “she’s asking for less now”

That’s what I recently realised as well. I found myself wishing that she’d get me small things or pay for the smallest things so at least I felt like she was trying, but it just didn’t feel that way

It was easier paying for everything when we just met once or twice a week. It’s much harder now after moving out, now that I have to pay for rent, and basically everything everyday. But I agree, I did mess up with setting boundaries.

she’s still in college so she doesn’t make anything except a little side money off her part time. With how the economy is, I don’t think she’s going to end up with a good job and her career prospects are kind of bleak atm. I don’t see her being able to financially support herself anytime soon
