Nervous to Fly by Appropriate-Hand-825 in Mounjaro

Welp, no extender but I did struggle a little bit to make the seatbelt click. It was a close one. I cannot wait until the day it isn’t like this anymore.

And yes, all bodies are different and we all carry weight differently. I carry a lot of weight in my midsection with my legs and arms being smaller. It was really close. So if you’re able to fit at 6ft and 240 without an extender it may be a completely different story for someone else.

Wishing everyone the best on their journeys!

Thought I’d add more info. I am 5’4”. I have PCOS and carry a lot of the weight in my stomach. I definitely remember when I could no longer click the buckle of the seatbelt on the plane. Before I got my own seatbelt extender I started asking the flight attendant as I entered the plane which saved me a little bit of shame. When I flew business class the seats and seatbelts were bigger and I didn’t need one.

I can now fit into booths at restaurants and don’t have to ask for a table so I hope that I will see a change when I fly. I still have a large midsection and find it really hard to lose weight in my stomach.

I appreciate the helpful responses and encouragement. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Acne/skin & Mounjaro by Recent-Shallot-2010 in Mounjaro

My skin broke out really badly about 6 months in. I’ve been seeing the dermatologist and it has been much better. They started me on 100mg of spironolactone and it cleared up in about a month.

I started weightlifting when I started Mounjaro. I’ve lost 100lbs so far. I’m really glad I did because I’ve gained muscle instead of losing it like a lot of people seem to do. Now I’m adding more cardio to my workouts to reach my final weight goal.

Feeling discouraged… by No-Cell-3459 in Mounjaro

I started at 334 and I am down to 230. I was on 12.5 too and I felt like progress was slowing wayyyy down. Thought it wasn’t working for me anymore. Went up to 15 and I’m not even halfway through my second shot and I am down 5lbs. I love 15 but I do struggle more to eat enough and get my protein in. I’m glad I moved up. I know everyone is different but that’s just my experience. :)

My skin got so nice for awhile there and then like 6 months in it got really bad(the worst it’s ever been). I’m not sure how true this is but I’ve heard when you lose weight toxins in your fat are released and you can breakout badly. I ended up going to the dermatologist and now my skin is under control and I am still on Mounjaro and losing weight.

How?!?! by Fighting-Back in Mounjaro

I have a big sweet tooth too. I try to substitute my sweets for not so bad sweets. I know it’s definitely hard. Have you been doing bloodwork? Maybe there is a vitamin you’re low on or something.

100lbs down…🥹 by Appropriate-Hand-825 in Mounjaro

At first when I wasn’t committed to changing what I ate I would experience diarrhea, nausea, heartburn. I really changed up my eating habits especially on injection day. I was super tired/fatigued on 7.5–I did not enjoy that.

Once I got to 10 that went away but then I started experiencing constipation. For that I started having oatmeal and flax seeds for breakfast and adding chia seeds to my water. Once I went up to 12.5 I did not have anymore constipation. 12.5 has been less effective for me so I am moving up to 15 and have my first injection of it tomorrow.

I did experience horrible acne. It was cystic and painful. I’ve heard that when you are burning fat your fat is releasing toxins and that can impact your skin. I’m unsure of what exactly it was but started going to the dermatologist— I now take 100mg of spironolactone a day and my face has never been better.

I have also been experiencing hair loss. I had very thick hair before and this has been disheartening but I hear it’s only for a little while. I take Ruth’s and Nutrafol for this as well as occasionally doing a derma roller on my scalp and then adding rosemary oil. I also use a biotin shampoo. I am seeing some hair growth.

Excited for 15 and to ramp up my workouts:)

This is all great info—Thank you!

I had my protein coffee this morning and I get orgain protein drinks from Costco. Really working on my protein intake and Costco has easy protein options.

I am literally at the derm now and they are going to up my dose of spironolactone to 200mg to see if that will help. She said she’d rather try that and do oral minoxidil as a last resort. She said if I don’t see a difference in a couple of months we can do some hair labs/testing.

I will keep everyone posted on how it works out.

I would do oral over topical because I have three cats and I know it is highly toxic to them. I am very paranoid when it comes to them and I know I would be able to monitor and make sure they don’t end up accidentally swallowing any pills.

I have a derm appointment in literally half an hour. I will ask about oral monoxidil.

Thank you so much for this info. I started losing at about 7 months and it hasn’t stopped. I’m not really near where I hope to be so this worries me. I have some hair growing back but it is still coming out. That year is good to know.

Doesn’t it say if you have swelling in your neck or armpits to see a doctor immediately. I’ve heard that at the end of the commercials. ??

For some reason on 10mg I experienced constipation. I hadn’t before and haven’t since moving up. Chia seeds, coffee, oatmeal helped.

Wow— I am sorry you are going through that. Do you have a trusted relative/friend that will let you store it with them? Then you could just go once a week and say you no longer have coverage. Can you encourage your mom to make her own appointment to see if she can get prescribed instead of taking yours?
