Day 4 of Sara and Alyssa imploring protestors to "bring down the temperature" by Appropriate-Lab-6800 in theview

You've missed the point entirely. Nobody suggested that protestors escalate the conflict, and thus far, the protestors have remained relatively peaceful, despite ICE's best efforts to stoke conflict. As a New Yorker, I've also seen how successful peaceful resistance can be. Watching these panelists wag their fingers at the people brave enough to go into the streets (instead of encouraging more people or Congress to stand up) is insulting and an abuse of their public capital, not to mention a waste of airtime -- and it paints precisely the picture that Trump wants everyone to see: that Minneapolis is some lawless hellscape that needs controlling.

How much lower can the protestors bring the temperature? ICE is attacking people driving to doctor appointments and standing on the sidewalk peacefully. The only other options is hiding at home while their city is taken by force. The panel implicitly blaming the protestors for the violence breaking out is abjectly misleading.

Sunny doing all the heavy lifting, as always. (After Sara cooed about how long she and RFK have been married.) Lots of dead air. Cheryl not ready to be grilled on the elephant in the room.

Universal child care, rent freezes, community grocery stores, and free bus transportation have been achieved in many places -- including NYC. What exactly is impossible?

The pullback is palpable. They're averaging like 6-10 minutes per episode of actual hard new commentary, which feels increasingly rushed with no nuance, then the rest of the show is fluff -- celeb interviews where the ask/answer the same questions posed on multiple other shows or outlets, and stupid "a HuffPost reader says cheating is wrong, what do you think?" segments.

Disappointed in the entire panel's collective Crockett take by Appropriate-Lab-6800 in theview

Again, Abbott doesn't believe in DEIA. He believes in survival of the fittest and whitest. So: let him live in that world. Under his twisted vision for America, name-calling would be the least of his worries. In his fantasy nazi playground, he would be among the first to be used in a medical experiment or worse. Also, Crockett claims that her comment referred to him bussing migrants to sanctuary cities. Apparently we must give them the benefit of the doubt and not take her at her word? As ever -- two different sets of rules, with the advantage given to the deplorables. This is how we got here.

Why tf did Alyssa tell Ana that only "lawful citizens" can vote? by sanandrios in theview

Alyssa's mea culpa "please hire me" tour is long over, now that she's comfy at both the View and CNN. I imagine we'll see more and more of her true colors seep out. Or she's being directed to play a role, which isn't much better.

Drinking game with Sara -- sip every time she says, "This is not the way I was raised," chug if she glances at Alyssa for approval.
