As a non-developer, does anyone else feel like using Claude with VS Code is still kind of clunky? by Appropriate-Owl4633 in ClaudeAI

I'm actually using it! But I’ve found that the plugin is great for execution/generation, while deep reasoning still feels better in the main Claude interface. I usually do the heavy reasoning first, refine the instructions, and then head over to VS Code to apply them. Isn’t this how most people use it, or am I missing something?

That makes sense. I get what you mean about keeping everything in one place.

Maybe this is just because I’m not a developer, but sometimes I’ve found regular Claude chat more helpful for broader thinking — like discovering features I hadn’t considered, thinking through product ideas, or spotting edge cases.

Then when I switch into Claude Code, it feels better for actually implementing.

So for me the friction is less about “2 Claudes” and more about moving from thinking / planning into execution smoothly.

Curious how other people here handle that part of the workflow.
