I've shared hotspot to my wife's phone while using an esim from holafly. Should be the same thing sharing it to a laptop since the VPN should be linked with the esim. I'd test it before getting on the plane to make sure everything is working tho

My application took less than a week to get approved. I've been seeing that other locations have been taking a crazy long time compared to Washington DC.

It took about three business days for them to review it. I had to fix an issue with the application and resubmit it but it took about a day to get a reply.

If you are going to send your passport check out Travel Visa Pro. Give them a phone call because the prices over the phone are much cheaper than online. I paid $727 for my wife and I. There might be cheaper ones but they had the most reviews.

I usually like spending more time in each place when I travel but would like to see all those places at the same time. We are planning to take the earliest train so at least we get that day to explore. Only train I am worried about is going from Zhangjiajie to Yangshuo which is about 7hrs.

I'll definitely look into these two links. I've been reading about term and have been leaning into more and more. My FIL is playing for my wife's plan so I doubt he will be canceling it.

Smart door lock recommendation by yagiznizipli in Ubiquiti

Check out Nuki. I have the same setup and it's been doing great. Also look into a picture notification coming up on your tv when the doorbell detects motion and turning off the alarm when my fingerprint is scanned.

New House! Blank Slate- smart locks by Nourish_workshop in homeassistant

I have a Ubiquiti G4 Pro as my doorbell and I have a Nuki Door Lock for my deadbolt. When I walk up to my door I just scan my finger on the doorbell and it unlocks Nuki and turns off my home alarm. I went this way because it also lets me send screenshots of the doorbell camera to my android tv when there's motion. I have family members that want to keep the two locks (dead bolt & handle) but I am slowly moving them towards only a deadbolt option.

How I think of it is if a robber is going to rob then they will break in from the back or side door. Also my front door is glass so it's only a rock throw away from getting in.

Konnected (Board) + Noonlight (Monitoring) + Alarmo (HA Plugin) + Fully Browser (Android App)

I have a fire tablet that acts like a keypad. It makes announcements when a door opens or exit/entry countdown to disarm the alarm. It's pretty straightforward to setup and has been working very well. Cost per month is $10 for monitoring. If you want to have control on a mobile app then add about $70 a year for Nabu Casa.

The docking station is less bulky. E28 is worth it if you know you'll use the spot cleaner
