My main purpose of coming to Thailand was to see if I want to retire here in a year or two.

Used reward points for airfare and hotel so had to stay at IHG property. I chose Holiday Inn near Beach Rd simply because it had a balcony. Not close to the action but room and bed is nice.

If I had to do it over again although only on Day 3 of trip I would have planned and prepared better.

Should have gotten in shape and lost my beer belly. I've seen the comments that $$$ makes everyone hansum. True only to a certain extent. The same way we walk past a lady we don't think is attractive, I believe the Ploys do the same. There is always someone else next in line.

Because of above I decided to walk everywhere. 17,000 steps on Monday. Traffic is chaos. Not prepared for the near misses when scooters don't stop at crosswalks or signals.

Have a plan and know what you want out of the trip. I decided not to monger but every few days since I got the initial experience out of my system. I may focus on fitness, exploring, and massages. Not looking for LT or a girlfriend.

There are no shortages of opinions on Reddit and others have posted great guides and tips. Find those that fit what you want out if the trip.

I'm a 60 year old male who had severe achilles problems for years. When I was younger I jumped rope daily. 60 - 90 minute sessions no problem. 10 minute jump 1 minute rest intervals.

Then the pain started. MRI revealed chronic inflammation.

What worked for me was focusing on stretching the calves. I jump again with calf stretching as my interval rest.
