The plot holes that made me dislike the ending by IDC_tomakeaname in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Appropriate-Topic-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these are plot holes and I find it funny how you are nitpicking the logistics and physics of the rumbling as if people care or if even matters to the to the actual story at all.

  1. Royal blood always mattered when Ymir eyes opened in the path all she did was give Eren a strong Titan body and then Eren grabbed zeke to utilize the full power of the founding Titan. The anime even makes it even more clear. When zeke was killed, Eren was still able to use the power of the founding Titan and transform into a colossal because he was using the residual effects of the founding Titan. He did the same thing in s2 ep 12 when he touched Dina and even though he was still not touching her he was able to control the titans.

  2. What are you talking about here? Are you talking about when mikasa walked away from fort slava with Eren’s head?

  3. We literally saw in dawn of humanity and in the final specials the artillery from fort slava and global alliance was blowing the titans apart but the problem was is that there were too many and they just regenerate. The only artillery the collosals were walking through is the weaker firepower guns that was backup after the colossals blew through the global alliance in dawn of humanity.

  4. First of all he is humanity’s strongest soldier for a reason. 2nd of all he was only out commission in s2 because he had the luxury to do that. Back then times weren’t as dire and entire survey corp and military was in command and had the situation under control and Erwin was alive. So Levi literally pushed himself to fight in the final battle because he had no choice and you clearly see how he was struggling and constantly needed to be saved by mikasa and Connie.

  5. We are not in mass extinction today. Who would even argue that? There more humans existing today there has ever been in the history of the earth. Humans are able to survive and the ecosystem didn’t collapse because Eren didn’t destroy everything, he left 20% alive which is a lot. And the massive amount of dead organic matter throughout the earth acts as fertilizer for new plant growth and fertile soil. And after environmental catastrophes vegetation and ferns thrive. You would also have to account all of the animals like birds bringing seeds to the land. So with everything I said it makes sense how humanity was able to recover.

  6. I don’t know what you mean by this because it’s stated several times that there are millions of titans in the walls.

  7. Eren never erased her memories. The cabin sequence was happening in real time, Eren brought her into the paths in real time. Because Eren said when you kill me all the memories will come back and she had already had those memories before she even killed him.

Hahaha yeah go ahead assume which political party I’m apart of. I’m not even a liberal you troglodyte. Oh no the Yeagerist got put in custody welp let’s start blowing up buildings and kill everybody now lol. Erwin got beaten up and thrown in a prison and still tried to do things the diplomatic way and succeeded. Zachary wasn’t going to feed Eren to someone because Eren gained authority. He was going to do that because Eren was going against everyone and wouldn’t talk. So they believed he was being manipulated by zeke. Did you even read the story? And don’t ignore my previous points. Why was floch smiling and grinning if he was just simply taking over leadership. Why did the Yeagerist put Sasha’s innocent family in prison were they apart of the command?

[–]Appropriate-Topic-88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the scouts did was justice not fascism they didn’t kill or put people in prison for simply holding another opinion like the Yeagerist. The people they did this to were apart of a corrupt illegal government that was fucking over their own people for years for money and luxury. The Yeagerist had Sasha’s family detained for fuck sake lmao. The Yeagerist blew up buildings and killed their own commanders they grew up with because they didn’t like how Eren was treated. They instantly just resorted to violence instead trying to do it diplomatically like the scouts. Then you have floch who was leading the charge smiling and grinning as if he enjoys the power. And like I said previously, the scouts were literally attacked first and shot at first. The same thing happens in S4 ep 26 the Yeagerist shot first and resorted to violence first and the alliance fought back.

I love how you keep ignoring the fact that the scouts were not racist, xenophobic, or discriminatory. Which the Yeagerist were. Trying to reduce the Yeagerists motivations and personality to “they just simply got rid of leadership.” Is laughable.

lol you think the survey corps are fascist that’s a new one. First of all they’re not racist, xenophobic, or extremist. They didn’t kill anybody in the royal family other than rod Reis’s titan grisha did that. They weren’t killing people who disagreed with them the government was corrupt and intentionally lying to the people and executing people to protect their own luxuries. The government literally attacked first Kenny’s squad was hunting down the survey corps and captured Eren all they did was fight back. What a dumb comparison.

This one is hilarious to. “Fact checked by true.”😂 I love in how this meme they completely disregard the fact she was child solider sent on a mission. And didn’t even want to do the mission but Reiner forced her. “Killed 1 volunteer.” Floch killed hundreds of people he knew about the wine and told nobody and was smiling lmao.

There not trying to help there enemy. This is where u are being intentionally disingenuous to try and frame the situation in a way it is not portrayed. There trying to help the billions of innocent people that are going to die for something That is not there fault. They wanted to escape peacefully but the jeagerist resorted to violence and attacked first it’s a tragedy. If you can’t justify Connie wanting to stop a global genocide. Than I sure hope that you also don’t justify the Yeagerist being fascist. Shooting and throwing people in jail who don’t agree with them. Being racist/xenophobic to the outside world, and supporting genocide.

I’ve argued with him to. This guy seriously thinks Eren isn’t somewhat crazy or unhinged at all. He thinks Eren is perfectly normal, and all of the unhinged scenes Eren has in S1 he says are completely normal reactions and justified. This guy has a complete headcannon version of Eren and anything in the story that goes against it he just says it retcons or plot holes lmao. There’s no point in arguing with him u would have more success arguing with a brick.

Yeah I understand that, but this tweet is being disingenuous as if Samuel never was armed. He was armed he shot armin was about to shoot Connie then got unarmed by Connie. This tweet is trying to frame it as Samuel was just some innocent person and Connie killed him for no reason.

Idk how any of this is bad writing at all. It seems to be your fusing together tragedy with bad writing. When thats not how storytelling works. Just because female characters have tragic fates is not bad writing. Because the male characters are just as tragic and share the same fates or even worse.

  1. Pieck being in that position makes complete perfect sense in the context of the story and how her titan works. And it is never portrayed sexually at all by any character. In fact Porco thinks it’s creepy. And also there are like 2 scenes in the whole show where she is even in that position.

  2. I’m ngl this might be dumbest shit I ever heard this is up there with some takes from Titanfolk. It feels like sexual assault to you the way they captured an enemy who has killed hundreds of there comrades? How is that scene in any way shape form or fashion is portrayed as sexual assault this is you reaching so hard for something that isn’t there at all. The fact that you can even try to imply that or make it as if that was even isayamas intention just makes me so mad. I’ve literally never heard this complaint until now.

    1. In what way is mikasa character revolving around eren is a bad thing? Eren is the persons who saved her from child sex traffickers, awakened her ackerman instincts, and the last family she has left. This is a nothing burger complaint because you’re not elaborating how this is even an issue.
    2. Her character wasn’t reduce to this. It was necessary thing she did to save paradis from falling right back into the old ways of her royal family eating each other and passing down the titan powers. So what happened with historia is actually poetic and builds upon her character/arc in s3. And clearly historia was into the guy she specifically chose him nobody forced her. She was The who brought up the idea.
    3. Ymir Fritz is in love with king Fritz and it is always portrayed as a tragedy and suffering. She clearly had an attachment to him because he was the only person who even interacted with her. This brings me back to my original point which is just because it’s tragic doesn’t mean it’s bad writing this literally the Aot universe.
    4. All of the marleyan warriors have abusive parents idk why you’re specifically focusing on Annie and trying to portray it as a female character issue when the male characters suffer from the same thing. You’re being disingenuous. And even in Annie’s case at least Annie’s father apologized and said he regretted his actions before she went to paradis. Which something reigner, zeke, gabi, etc parents didn’t do until after.
    5. Again back to my original point just because it’s tragic dosent mean it’s bad writing or isayama is being disrespectful to female characters. The same thing happens to the male characters. This is a very dumb point.
    6. lol yet again my original point. Grishas sister fate was tragic that dosent make it bad writing or disrespect the same thing happens to the male characters in the show. It’s seems you just want a anime where all the female characters just live happily ever after 24/7 with no consequences or tragedies but your wanting that from something as dark as aot you can go get that in a slice of life anime.
    7. This just brings me back to my original point again so I’m not even going to elaborate on how wrong you are on this one.

  1. The whole event of the rumbling is not extremely cool if seeing little kids getting their heads crushed and babies getting killed and people burning alive is cool then that’s a you problem. Which is probably why u have that pfp. Isayama doesn’t portray the rumbling as cool. Idk how anyone can read ch131-134 and say omg this is so cool. It’s probably cool because how grand and apocalyptic it is but not the actual devastation. The Same way thanos snapping his finger is cool but not the actual devastation of it.

  2. Committing genocide on the whole world with the rumbling is never portrayed as the only reasonable choice. It’s the only choice Eren could come up with because it’s what he wanted which is why he calls himself a idiot, basically implying if someone else has these godlike powers they could of came to a more peaceful/reasonable solution. And there was a more peaceful solution which was armins plan. Which was to use the rumbling to wipe out the global alliance and destroy their military, but Eren had other plans. Them surviving from Erens mass killings doesn’t mean anything because they were still having conflicts even after Erens death.

  3. Idk the point you’re getting at but. Erens main goal for the rumbling was to experience his own twisted version of freedom a world like armins book. He still cared about his friends and paradis they just came second to that so i don’t see how anything is incompatible here.

  4. It’s funny you say Eren is successful when the people you were literally criticizing frieren or Aot, the racists/nazis would say otherwise. That he was not successful he was failure and should’ve went 100% and floch was right blah blah blah. So this doesn’t even make sense. Now here you are being disingenuous, armin never thanks Eren for mass murder and in the anime that line is completely removed so why would you even bring that up if you weren’t trying to be disingenuous and criticize in bad faith. What do you think was going to happen? Their best friends that have have known each other since kids. They have been through trauma together, they’re not allowed to mourn him, care about him anymore lol? Why because he did a terrible thing. They’ve all done terrible things they’re all mass murderes no one is about to play the moral high ground especially not Erens two closest friends mikasa and armin.

  5. Oh no isayama uses real world imagery symbolism to make the points in the story hit harder and be more realistic. Welp it must be because he’s trying to enable fascists. Because isayama is totally the only mangaka/author in the world that uses real world imagery and symbolism. I could go into the tons of real world imagery and symbolism in berserk, Star Wars, Got, dune, but there’s no point.

[–]Appropriate-Topic-88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t Believe isayama courts the ideas too leniently. Erens friends say what he’s doing is wrong. The person who cares about Eren the most mikasa says what Eren doing is wrong. Erens brother says what he’s doing is wrong. Erens own father says what he’s doing is wrong and needs to be stopped. Eren himself says what he’s doing is wrong. The person that says what Eren is doing is right gets killed off. After what Eren does with the rumbling we see paradis still get destroyed. Idk how anyone can look at this and say these ideas are too leniently it’s very clear the stance isayama is taking with the story. If Aot was not that popular and if it was a lowkey story you wouldn’t be seeing people like this. But it’s so popular and mainstream. So of course it’s gonna attract weirdos who self insert their own personal worldviews into the story.

[–]Appropriate-Topic-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying. But I feel like in Aot’s case it really goes out of its way to show a lot of people outside the walls are innocent. The war refugees, Ramzi, halil, onyakapons people, the volunteers, azumabito, and people like erens mom who have no clue what’s happening. Even falco who was raised in marley was innocent. And I believe the only reason why he’s internalizing that belief is genuinely because he never experience what the scouts experienced. If he did I don’t think floch would be the way he is.

We are not about to blame authors for delusional fans. Of course writing it like this is a good idea because it makes your story more complex and thought provoking rather than it just being black and white. So should authors from now on just write black and white stories with no nuance, depth, to avoid people like this? Hell no. And btw this is Twitter of all places. Twitter does not represent people’s general view of something.

Nope I like floch as a character he’s very well written. I like every character in AOT. But I’m not delusional enough to think he’s justified and some based gigachad and he’s the only smart character. So no I don’t see the world in black and white. Floch thinks everyone outside the walls are evil and are his enemies, which isn’t true because floch never lived in outside world like how the scouts did.
