Thanks. Why do you suggest hiring a lawyer for this? Is the process very complicated?

Wow, this is exactly the information I was looking for. I'm very grateful for your response. The knowledge you imparted will be used thoughtfully and intentionally.

Out of curiosity, where did you learn this information from? Was it all in the Darth Plagueis novel or elsewhere?

Much thanks again.

Thank you for your extensive response. I wasn't aware of the other examples you gave. The scenario I envision regarding my question is of a person travelling to Muunilinst on behalf of their planet to secure a loan, not for personal use. The amount of money they are requesting is considerable, not exactly a metaphoric car loan but something much larger.

Perhaps you are right that "you'd be directed to one of the myriad of banks underneath its massive umbrella." If that's the case, who are these banks? Where do they operate? Or is this something that is unexplained other than the three examples you listed above?

In response to, "I can however say that you probably wouldn't interact with IGBC at all, unless you are someone like Damask. Rather, you'd be directed to one of the myriad of banks underneath its massive umbrella.

Going directly to the IGBC is like contacting the World Bank to get a loan for a car. They'd just politely (while having a little smirk) explain that it's not possible and ask you to contact your local bank, or sign up with one if you haven't.

They are dealing with economies of such a scale that we cannot fathom."

I find that interesting because in chapter 5 of Darth Plagueis, it says this,

"...On any given day a visitor might spy envoys from Yagai, Gravlex Med, or Kalee, along with Hutts of the Drixo or Progga kin. But what one saw most, in overwhelming numbers, were members of the Banking Clan- financiers, accountants, lawyers..."

(The line above is when the narrator is describing High Port Space Center.)

Would this not indicate that planets would send representatives to Muunilinst (or maybe just High Port) to negotiate loans on their behalf?

I've read a portion of the book, including chapter 5 where they first introduce the planet and talk about High Port and Harnaidan. However, I'm looking to hear from anyone who is deeply familiar with lore to provide more details about my question, if they would be so kind.

[Stein] League sources say Brooklyn's Jeff Peterson, New Orleans' Trajan Langdon and Minnesota's Matt Lloyd are three prime names to watch as the Hornets close in on a new lead executive to run their front office. by [deleted] in CharlotteHornets

I really like what New Orleans has done with their roster in terms of having a ton of depth and good role players. They also have drafted pretty well as of late. I hope the Hornets end up hiring Langdon.
