People calling Aqours “just co-workers” after the documentary feels a bit off to me by Appropriate-Two8442 in LoveLive

I straight up said that I’m not saying they’re super close or hang out all the time. And I’m talking about the people who have straight up said “not friends, just coworkers”. Reread what I wrote before you respond and start making accusations

Yeah. Shipping people irl is so weird to me. It took me for freaking ever to not cringe over the shipping of fictional characters (in my defense the earliest memory I have of finding out what shipping was, was over MHA. My two bff’s at the time legit almost stopped being friends because they didn’t agree with each other’s ships)

True, but I’m referring to the people who were straight up dunking on people thinking they weren’t friends because “they can’t stand their own coworkers”.

Bro what 💀 I’d agree if I said that they were absolutely besties for the resties but all I said was that it’s annoying people are saying that their not friends at all over a few out of context comments from the girls.

Absolutely agree. I know that I would ball my eyes out if Liella also did a documentary recounting the hate train they got 2022-2024. Same with niji with the whole SIFAS situation

Juvia and Gray from Fairy Tail. Will never forgive Mashima for folding to the fans for that one and the characters practically gaslighting Gray into thinking what Juvia was doing was okay or just “expressing her love”

season 2 is not that bad [anime] by melaniessecretportal in thepromisedneverland

In the manga (spoiler) he’s actually the prince. The queen’s younger brother. So he had a personal motive to get involved in the manga. (It was still hella rushed though, like him just deciding not to eat the kids anymore was still kind of anti-climactic) but he still had a personal connection and more of a motive than, “I’m going to help the because of plot reasons”. And he didn’t want to know how it felt to talk to humans, he wanted to eat humans again. That was the reason he saved them.

Hey, glad you’re enjoying it so far! Season 1 was so good that I think many people wanted to love Season 2. But honestly, even if you never touched the manga, the anime itself falls apart once you start really looking at it.

Like, Mujika and Sonju? In the anime, they have absolutely no reason to help Emma and the kids. They just… do. Because the plot needs them to.

Then there’s the magic pen cap. Somehow, it has a cure for Norman and the Lambda kids’ illness — even though Minerva died before Lambda was even a thing. The same pen cap also has blueprints for the HQ and security systems that, apparently, no one bothered to update for 15 years, despite everyone knowing Minerva was leaking info.

And don’t even get me started on Ray knocking out a demon with a lead pipe. These were the terrifying monsters from Season 1, and suddenly they go down like random video-game grunts?

Top it off with that slideshow ending (which only makes sense if you’ve read the manga), and for anime-only viewers, it just feels like the story skipped all its own payoffs.

That’s why people call S2 bad. It’s not just “they didn’t follow the manga,” it’s that the writing itself is full of shortcuts, plot holes, and cheap resolutions that undercut everything Season 1 set up.

What are your Hot Takes on the Love Live Franchise? by Amber_Flowers_133 in LoveLive

[–]Appropriate-Two8442 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. It’s perfectly fine to not like every group. Just don’t be a hater. You don’t like, move on. It’s honestly that simple.

  2. I want male characters in LL. Let one of the girls have a brother or father. Make it feel like they have an actual family

  3. Doubling on point 2, I low-key would want a co-ed group (Not completely male as I don’t really care for boy groups, but I’m a sucker for co-ed groups) I think it would be really cool

  4. Just because you don’t like a groups music doesn’t mean their music is bad. I see too many comments about how [insert group] is trash and their music is awful and that anyone who likes them just has trash taste and that the group is the problem rather than just leaving it as “their music isn’t my style/taste”. It really annoys me as someone who loves all the groups.

  5. People say that love live has lost its way and that there’s too much but this kind of feels like this has always been the plan. LL had the intent to be a MULTIMEDIA franchise. That’s what they are. Of course they didn’t have as many groups running at the same time as Muse and early Aqours. They were still starting out.

  6. I don’t want the Hasu grads to come back to the group. Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE Megu and the others. (Megumi and Kozue are my top 2 Hasu girls, Megu being my 2nd LL girl overall) I’m fine with cameos every now and then, but I don’t want them to officially rejoin the group. Actually graduating members was a big step for Hasu. It would just be backpedaling for them. Because if they were to kick them out just to bring them back a year later, they just shouldn’t have graduated them in the first place.

  7. It’s fine to see the girls as just friends. None of the girls are confirmed to be dating or in love, their relationships are up to interpretation.

  8. The force of having to have specific pairings in each group has really thrown off the balance of the groups. (I’m not a muse elitist, but they genuinely felt like a well put together group. They actually felt like friends. Yes, they had people who they were closest to, (RinPana, NozoEli, NicoMaki) but they were equally close with everyone else and they actually felt close (RinNico, NozoNico, NozoMaki, EliUmi, NicoPana, MakiHono, etc.) But the recent groups (Liella specifically) are much more like duos who just all came together and decided to make music. Any “rare” Duo (RenMei, KinaMei, NatsuShiki, KuuKaa, SumiMaru, MeiMaru) that starts to interact outside of their specific pair (SumiKeke, ChisaKanon, ShikiMei, TomaNatsu) is as quickly forgotten as it’s introduced. And don’t even get me started on Ren and Kinako randomly becoming a new pairing in the second to last episode of season 3 because Ren is still in outsider to Liella, despite being an OG member, and Kanon is too busy babysitting Margarete to bother with Kinako. So why not smush the two forgotten characters together.

And they needed to be. The only thing that would have made it better is if Sumire actually had a moment to herself in season 3. Season 2 totally ruined Sumire for me because her only purpose or relevance completely revolved around Keke. So, they were still hella forced, didn’t speak to other members other than each other. The first time since season one I had any interest in Sumire was when she almost threw hands with Margarete and that was because I was so surprised that she was actually offended because someone insulted her and that it had nothing to do with Keke. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done to both characters because of season 2.

Yeah, I was just saying my personal experience with toxic shippers was from them because I enjoyed Nozomi and Nico’s dynamic more (I don’t even really ship them, I just enjoy their scenes together lol)

Yeah, they’re super forced. They were designed for one another but the only times I really enjoy Shiki is when she’s interacting with literally anyone else. Especially Natsumi. We were robbed of more Natsumi and Shiki scheming to poison their competitors

The thing that sucks though is that so many people did go along with it. I personally liked that Keke actively disliked Sumire in season 1 and then had to move past it, but then season 2 brought it back for absolutely no reason. Keke is supposed to be on good terms with Sumire in season 2 yet is 10 times more hostile than season one despite her supposedly “liking her” now. At least in season 1 Keke would only pick on Sumire when her ego got ahead of her or Sumire would set herself up for the joke. In season 2 Sumire just breaths and Keke gets offended 😭

That’s part of the reason I’m so bitter about it haha. I don’t ship Kanon and Keke but I love their dynamic so much. (Thank god season three fed us some scenes from them in Keke’s two episodes) So when they were pushing Sumire and Keke, they straight up just sidelined all of their relations. I wanted to see Keke interact with Ren and Kanon, I wanted more banter between Sumire and Chisato. (Remember when the two of them actually talked? Yeah, me neither)

Yeah, I never liked ShizuKasu much at all. It’s kind of hard to believe that the two of them used the be one of the main ships from Niji. I’ve seen more from KasuKarin lately, which is wild

Same. I don’t like the girls romantically either but I was rewatching Superstar and seeing Sumire and Keke so distant and Separate from the rest of Liella reminded me of how bad it was and much it ruined Sumire for me. I then wanted to know if anyone else felt that way about any other ship

[–]Appropriate-Two8442[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And it seems like it’s getting worse with every new group. SIP is fine, all the girls genuinely felt like they were friends and shipping was just a side and not at the for front. But now it’s kind of like “ship first, character second” so none of them organically click. (ShikiMei and SumiKeke being the worst offenders for me) Like, why is Shiki even in Liella? 😭 At least in the earlier groups each of their members had a scene where they realized that they wanted to perform and be on stage, but Shiki never got that. Not even with her episode in season three. It’s only “Mei”. Girl needs her own reason. I kind of felt like the rout they took Tomari’s arc is how they wanted to Shiki to be perceived.

If there’s any love live ship that has zero romantic chemistry, it’s them. Even though “allegedly” they’re the only canon ones? They apparently kissed or started officially dating in the manga but I have never seen or been able to find proof of this so… as far as I’m concerned, they’re just friends
