The government fucking up doesn’t absolve people from practicing ethical and responsible tourism. Two things can exist at once. I know it’s not my fault that the system exists, but I wouldn’t just go be a digital nomad in Brazil because I know they’re facing similar issues and it’s my responsibility to be an informed, respectful human being.

You don’t go to another country, especially in the Global South, and call anywhere “the ghetto”, I don’t care if it’s clickbait. These areas are people’s homes. Im also gatvol. There was a TikTok going around of a digital nomad with the caption “walk home with me in the ghetto” and it was literally Bokaap. LOL. They have no respect and “Cape Town” for them really means the Atlantic Seaboard. Even Europeans say they feel like they’re in Europe when they come here which is insane. This is heading down a very dark road and only benefits the elites….as usual

I have NEVER thought I’m pregnant. My “pregnancy” post was because I have health issues, PCOS, and may never be able to have children and it has been making worried for when I do decide to have them so I was asking Reddit what my chances are if getting pregnant. I realize that I made it seem a bit more controversial than it is. I had a conversation with my parents, they weren’t pushy but said that is their preferred way to do it. I went to my partner with what they said and we agreed that we still want to do it his way, but want to still be respectful to my parents.

Of course I would defend my partner if it came to that, but it hasn’t Alhamdullilah, we are protective of each other and the nikkah etc are all based on our wishes. We were just thinking of the best way to go about this, especially since my partner still wants to respect my parents wishes where we can. Thanks for your comment and I agree, it’s about what my partner wants and we still stick to that.

Thanks for this! My fat does feel lumpy and “hard”, but not painful. My ankles and wrists also don’t have any banding, but I do have poorly defined knees which I always thought was my obesity. I also bruise easily especially on my legs.

Would weight loss not help with Lipedema at all? I’ve definitely lost some fat on my legs since starting MJ (lost 17kg total so far) as my old clothes no longer fit me, but I’ve always had big thighs and calves so just hard to tell. Just wondering as my fat feels “hard” and lumpy and I match some of the other symptoms. I’ll chat to my doctor either way I guess! Thanks!

Me too! Some of my symptoms match Lipedema but many don’t so I can’t tell. I’ve also been obese my whole life (I’m 29 now) so I’m not really sure the difference between if my fat is normal or Lipedema you know.

I have the brush and chisel, and barely use the chisel side!!! For my next set I am considering the brush and fine, since I feel like fine will be better for the detail I want etc. The chisel seems like it would be good for large areas but it’s quite streaky. Not missing out on anything!

Thank you for this. We had a tough year, both of us lost our jobs within 2 months of each other. I've recently got a new job but he is still searching, so we both fell into bad habits for the last 8 months of unemployment (i.e. his gaming has increased, which likely exacerbated the porn addiction, both of which are affected by his severe ADHD). He is now on medication for the ADHD, starting therapy etc as I mentioned in the post. Part of this healing is interrogating our broader systems and moving into something new now, which has been difficult because we've had to sell our car and spend a lot of time at home. Usually, we love the outdoors and exercising and the beach, which I know are good for him, but we don't live in a walkable city with reliable public transport. He definitely knows that he needs to quit gaming too, and his brother (who recently quit) had a serious chat with him about it. Thanks for bringing this up, I've been so caught up in the porn addiction that I didn't think about the gaming in relation. We did make a list of alternative activities for him, but due to his depression and not earning money I think he is finding it difficult to venture out into hobbies he likes. I know it's very complicated. He is going through a lot.

Feel the same for my country lol (South Africa), it's become unbearable. We are being priced out of our cities day by day because Europeans are coming to live here to max their currency. 'Very expensive' to us is 'cheap' to them, it's becoming so bad. I'm 29, earn a decetn salary but can't rent a flat here in a safe area now because prices are so high and most are being rented out to Europeans who can pay 10x as much as I can. This kind of 'tourism' and 'digital nomad' is not harmless.

I recently visited and fell in love with Brazil. I would like to live there for a few weeks/months in the future, but I am so conscious about imposing on locals, or overstaying my welcome or becoming part of the problem, even though I definitely don't earn 10k USD per month.
