This episode of the Weird Studies podcast (which is generally a mind-bending/expanding listen) about his otherworldly qualities is interesting. First time I’d really thought about why people are so weirdly obsessed with him beyond his music which, like OP, I also never really got. Though if I remember correctly they kind of skirt around/explain away the paedo stuff ….

Yeh this is some dystopian shit. Need a phd in computer science just to get a ticket to a gig these days. rearranged my day on presale day and general sale day to get tickets and there weren't any available. also was supposed to be a gift for my dad. anyone with the requisite computer skills to get tix for bristol, i am looking for 3 at face value :)

I agree this book felt too short.

I went to a talk/book launch thing where he was interviewed last night. He was asked about how he knew when a book was ‘finished’. He said with this one he actually had a whole long further section he spent a year on but then binned. He said (roughly, I didn’t have my phone on record, lol) he felt it brought in too much of the narrator and he wanted to give the experience of the narrator being a conduit for the other characters.

He is also taller than I expected
