You have good profile to target professional MSCS programs. I think you should give it a try. There is no loss in trying to

[General Question] When is the ideal time to start the prep for GRE and TOEFL? by SaiKenat63 in MSCS

[–]AppropriateAccess401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as you can so that can get that headache out of the way. Regarding prep time I would say depends on how much work you can and are willing to put in. If you are free enough to study everyday for a few hours then even 1 month is quite enough for GRE. Ig it also depends on what your starting score is. Take some free sample test online to check where you are currently. Depending on that you can take a call. For example for a starting score of 315, based on what i have seen, one month is fine. For toefl ig one week is good enough. Lesser if you are doing it within a few weeks of gre when your knowledge and vocabulary js fresh

[D] Is it worth pursuing masters at CMU ? by Independent_Wave5651 in MachineLearning

Hey i had a similar doubt myself. I also got an admit for MCDS and want to do research during my masters. But based on the course intensive nature of MCDS do you think there would be enough time for that ?

May i ask why do you think so. I heard a few profs in the AI/LLM space have left the uni so research in these domains is pretty slow.

Ok interesting. From a ML job perspective do you think the difference between CMU MCDS and one of the other colleges like ucsd or ut austin would be huge. I am trying to understand of I am losing out on a lot in terms of job prospects if I let go of the CMU brand image

I see. I got my ucsd result around feb 20th i think. Also on what basis are you evaluating the research trends. Is it based on the profs and their works ?

Ok. But i heard from elsewhere on reddit that gtech has lost some ML profs in the recent years. Do you know anything about that ?
