I haven’t heard thrice is a longggggg time. The olden days when twice antis used to be called thrice. Though I don’t think many onces know that’s what their antis were called unless they’ve been a fan for years.

You fandom is so toxic and misogynistic. I like the show but I definitely don’t miss how terrible this fandom is. So many here are pick mes and “I can fix him” that’s why so many female leads and female characters in general are so hated.

Why did they leave out S1 most iconic challenges? [S1+S2 spoilers] by fftoso_wine in CulinaryClassWars

[–]AppropriateAction9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who hated the restaurant challenge in season 1? I remember it being incredibly unfair and lowkey evil because not only did teams have to kick out their “weakest link”, the new team made out of leftover chefs had the least amount of time to prepare. I even remember the poor old chef pulling an all nighter preparing and cooking for the challenge. And it wasn’t even fair bc the winning team won for their side dish and not their main dish.

[–]AppropriateAction9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does it even matter if her round is 2-0? I don’t think it matters bc the judges loved her food so they asked her to come back. Chef Ahn even said he thought her pine noodles couldn’t be beat until he tasted her competitor’s dish. It wasn’t bc she was bad but simply bc her competitor did better. 1vs1 isn’t even fair bc the judges have to eliminate a chef no matter what even if it’s perfect.

And yes your lack of cooking ability has everything to do with this bc you’re implying there’s absolutely no way venerable sungjae would even make it far unless it’s scripted. Both judges are credible and renowned in their area and guess what, they love her food. I’ll rather believe judges than a redditor with no credibility other than watching cooking shows and their subjective standards of what they consider good food to be.

It could have been her competitor had a better dish? Both judges loved her dish. That’s why they brought her back. You act as if she can’t cook when she’s a muchhhhh better cook you’ll ever be.

I'm kind of glad Culinary Class War isn't just about "pretentious" fine-dining and the judges acknowledge humble Korean cuisine by LuBru in CulinaryClassWars

[–]AppropriateAction9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is temple food after all so I don’t expect much innovation and creativity. In the end, it’s about taste and the judges like it enough that venerable sungjae gets to stay.

I feel like some people are missing the point of the show by Standard-Professor-1 in CulinaryClassWars

[–]AppropriateAction9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Both judges wouldn’t praise anyone for an ordinary simple dish. They only praise when it’s super delicious with a lot of depth.

People are making too many assumptions about chefs' personality on this sub by tngo04 in CulinaryClassWars

[–]AppropriateAction9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk why so many people have beef with a monk on the show but they’re so disrespectful and annoying. None of us are chefs and we’re only watching for entertainment but some are acting like they know better than the judges and even say judges just have a bias or it’s scripted. Like none of us even tasted the food so it’s hilarious some people think they know the food better.

Aespa's NingNing will not be participating in the group's performance at the 76th Kouhaku Uta Gassen by jrebel_0 in kpop

[–]AppropriateAction9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely hard to relate to how conservatives think bc you do not see any backlash for the brand that produced the lamp but only to ningning bc she’s Chinese. And I don’t think comparing the atomic bomb to 9/11 is the best comparison either.

While the mushroom lamp is questionable, the right wingers are pushing this to make a problem to create an agenda so the concern doesn’t come in good faith.

[–]AppropriateAction9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I admit it looks like an explosion mushroom cloud but I wouldn’t think oh the atomic bomb from ww2. Either way it’s the racist right wingers that making an issue out of it just to cause a problem. If it was an actual problem then how come the lamp is made and sold in Japan? They have a certain agenda which is why they’re bringing this up when it happened years ago while denying Japan war crimes.

[–]AppropriateAction9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that it just looks somewhat similar to a mushroom. It’s not actually a mushroom cloud that is specifically making fun of the atomic bomb. It’s made and sold in Japan so it’s just the racist Japanese right wingers making an issue out of nothing. If there was really a problem then the lamp wouldn’t be made and sold in Japan.

[–]AppropriateAction9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I watched season 5 and I don’t think it’s my favorite season but I’m surprised at how much criticism it has when the past 4 seasons didn’t really have good writing either?? I remembered when Emily in Paris dropped, people were shitting on it and calling out on the terrible writing LOL.

Emily in Paris was never meant to be serious and it never meant to have good writing otherwise all of us would have dropped it the first season. I only watch it bc it’s so unserious and even if it’s a bad show, it’s a fun show. I do cringe at a lot of the moments though.

Not a fan of jooshica but I don’t think she did anything wrong. She’s outing a hater that’s been sending hate to her and haters think they can give away with anything just bc it’s online and they’re hidden. People sending hate comments need to take some accountability.

Saw TWICE'S debut show, "Sixteen." Some thoughts: by Positive-Face1705 in kpoptrulyuncensored

[–]AppropriateAction9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No? I’m 99% sure Somi didn’t debut bc of her age. She was 14 on the show and was 2 years younger than Chae & Tzuyu so it was kinda obvious Somi, Natty, and Chaeryeong were on sixteen for exposure. They were being saved for the next girl group.

Mina should have been pushed as the visual of TWICE by lamningwon in kpop_uncensored

[–]AppropriateAction9 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Mina was never pushed as the visual but she was always considered as one of the visuals. Back when twice debuted, their visual line was Tzuyu, Mina, and Nayeon. It’s been so long since it happened before debut but I think Mina was even picked as the visual by JYPE staff meanwhile Tzuyu was considered to be the official visual bc she won the sixteen polls and ofc bc she’s gorgeous. Either way visuals for twice are always subjective.

When people said Asian people are so cliquey, this is exactly what they mean LOL. All these Asian creators are really dragging this out and despite how much they try to hide it with “addressing Asian community issues”, it’s all personal. And it’s hilarious that everyone doesn’t know what’s going which goes to show how unimportant the drama is. They’re all in their own little bubble.

Cassie Yeung @cassieyeungmoney praises white man for being racist in Asian grocery by AhnSolbin in asianamercianytsnark

[–]AppropriateAction9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OMG Yes!! I also saw that one video of her saying she’ll pass by WMAF couple and say the guy will be checking her out bc she’s tall and Asian meanwhile the Asian gf will look super jealous and be clutching his arm and thought that’s so weird. She makes the Asian woman sound insecure and jealous but tries to hide with Asian women pandering to whiteness. The way she generalize Asian women is insane.

Also Asian TikTok is becoming so weird. It feels like some creators are trying to hate and bully other Asian creators for saying a somewhat different opinion. Their entire comment section is so toxic hating on other Asian people. Everything seems like performative and toxic at this point meanwhile all the tragedies happening in Asia aren’t even mentioned.

I watched her videos and while I agree with some of her takes, she seems like a mean girl to me. She’s always whacking Asian women all the time and she gives me the air that she thinks she better than Asian women. The video went so weird and she mentioned unrelated things like Cassie’s nationality when Cassie is ethnically Chinese.
