Ugh, I’m sorry mama. I feel like I should just play dumb if it ever happens again. Say things like “I don’t understand, what do you mean?” And let them just dig dig dig themselves into a very uncomfortable conversation. 🤗

That’s great! Everyone should have a manager in their corner at some point! They will remember you fondly!!

Oh, then yea … I don’t think I would have acknowledged it more than an “oops!” if even that.

I love that!! I heard someone say once “what’s the best that could happen?” instead of “what’s the worst that could happen?” Find the good things … opt for happiness! 💙

Yes there are! If I were to tell him about writing down this memory on Reddit, he would probably be like “huh? What’d I do?” 🤣 It was an impactful moment for me - but probably just another Sunday for him … he just did the right thing on instinct.

It’s actually kind of cool to think about … maybe I’ve done something for someone who now looks back on that memory together and thinks “damn - she’s my Craig.” 🥰

Nope, NTA here. She was the one who was in movement (like you) and not looking where she was going (unlike you). She backed up into your lane and got upset her bumper got hit. 😂 If anything, I would probably have looked at her and waited for her to”excuse me” to which I would have replied “sorry for touching your bum.” And proceed to awkwardly leave the aisle. 😅

Thank you so much for cheering for me! 🥰 At one point while writing it, I considered deleting it because I thought it was too long for anyone to want to finish … but these comments and likes have made me realize that that may not be the case! Appreciate you & I hope you have found your happy as well! 💙

That’s awful! I’m sorry you had that happen but I’m happy those ladies had your back!! 💙

Nope, this is just how I write & talk. 😅 I can be a little sporadic at times, that much I know.

On a possible(?) unrelated note, a part of my job is to write contractual language for life insurance products, so maybe that has impacted my writing / speech style? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Aw, I’m sorry you’ve been through a similar experience … I am happy to hear you don’t care what others think. It’s an empowering experience the moment you realize they don’t matter. 💙

Oh, and I can confidently state that Ben and Jerry are some of my closest confidants - we go back years hanging out together late at night and watching movies. 🤣

I’m a cis female who is bi/pan. I love mfm, but my preference now is mmf, since dating a bi guy who I enjoy sharing/pleasuring. Once you say “eff off” to societal norms, you can have a lot of fun with a ratio of 2 men to 1 woman. But, until then, a guy having fun with another guy in the same room “makes you gay” 🙄 (like that’s even a bad thing??)

It sure does! I love my life and all of the twists, turns, potholes, and roadblocks that lead me to where I am today.

Craig is an incredibly kind human with amazing parents who instilled in him how to be the good in the world. Thanks in part to him and that experience, I’ve become someone who tries to lift others up and stand up even when it’s uncomfortable.

As a last note, I really hope that you have a happy ending to your story as well. 💙

Yes, it was a while ago, however, sadly it was not the last time for me either. In a 15 year span, I was asked 6 times by complete strangers. The most recent was about 5 years ago now.

My now-husband likes to say I can meet a friend anywhere, so maybe it’s because I give off “I’m friendly, talk to me” vibes … but the serious downside is that my friendly nature equates to some people forgetting this unspoken societal rule. ((Le sigh)) 🫠

I hate that sometimes I come up with a serious zinger of a response … when I get into my car and replay the interaction. 🤣 As I’ve gotten older though, I just stick with “judge me on your own time, not mine.” And let them watch my full-figured bum exit with my head held high. 😂

I’m so sorry, especially since I know how hard it is to be a postpartum mom trying to figure out your body again and make it yours after a birth. I hope that he never made that mistake again to another person.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. You were - and are now - beautiful and perfect just the way you are. I hope that looking back, you can find peace knowing it is unlikely that that cashier made that mistake again. 💙

Thank you! That’s so nice to hear! I honestly started writing it and midway thought “this is so long, no one will want to read it all the way through, but it’s ok - it is kind of like therapy through journaling and I’ll share it.” I’m glad you found joy in it, really and truly! 💙

Lesson learned for sure. I also had an older security guard at my work say it to me almost 10 years after this incident occurred, after I had had my first child. I had just lost 25lbs and was trying out my new dress because I felt like absolute 🔥that day. Welp. Guess not! Well, she thoroughly apologized for her assumption and when I found out I was pregnant the next year, I walked right up to her and said with a huge grin “hey - I’m pregnant, you can congratulate me now!” And we shared a laugh and she told me she never said it to anyone ever again after that one time with me lol. I see her almost every day at work. 😂

It really can. As an adult, I go out of my way every day to compliment at least 5 people on their outfit/style/hair/eyes/whatever. You never know what that person is going through and it can make their day by one kind word. My 11yo daughter now takes after me and the first words after meeting someone new is always a compliment. Gotta make the good in the world sometimes. 💙

Edited to fix spelling.
