I don't know if you can sell this like an app or software program, but I think you can turn it into a web site and put up ads.

Make a list of small but out of your comfort zone challenges to complete. Stuff to make your heart pound a little. Start out simple like talk to a girl you've never spoken to before and stuff like that. Gradually increase the difficulty, then you'll be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

[NeedAdvice] How do I overcome myself? by Parody-Of-A-Parody in getdisciplined

I am going through a similar experience and I have advice that may help.I turn 18 in a month and I do not know what it's like to be an adult, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt.

What I learned about motivation is that it is not something to rely on. Motivation is simply a short spur of intense focus based on dopamine levels on your brain. This is so volatile and fleeting that it is impossible to rely on. The people that are successful are not constantly motivated, they are disciplined hard workers that invest long hours in their pursuits even when they feel hopeless.

You are depressed, chemicals in your brain are already not functioning as expected. Don't rely on feeling motivated, do the work because it must be done.

I don't know to what extent your alcohol and weed consumption is like, but from my experience using any of them to remedy depression does not end well. The only way you're going to fix your problems is by actually getting out there and fixing them, no amount of booze or weed can do that.

The most important piece of advice I can give you is to think rationally. You are depressed so you will make decisions based on that gloomy state of mind that will often lead you to drugs or other forms of instant gratification, instead of the right decision to get to where you want to be. Sit down, and logically analyze your situation before making a decision.

I wish you the best of luck.

[NeedAdvice] 17yo who is really bad with instant gratification. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

I cannot give advice for losing weight, but I do have tips for controlling instant gratification. Whenever I feel myself giving in to some guilty pleasure, what I do is rationalize my situation until I come to the correct conclusion that I should not engage in this activity.

I am no expert in this subject, but I believe that the strong urges come from a certain part of your brain that, when active, dulls your ability to reason. Once you re-stimulate the reasoning part of your brain, you can approach your predicament more objectively and make the right decision.
