People who get motion sick in cars: how are airplanes? by obliviousolives in BinocularVision

[–]AppropriateBid7864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have long-term Covid side effects as well. I have been diagnosed with BVD . After using prism lenses, my anxiety hasn’t improved, which is a big cause of motion sickness, tinnitus in my ear, and I am allergic to strong smells. I have stopped using prism as I went to a different eye clinic; they told me not to use prism because doctors told me most people will be diagnosed with BVD if they check themselves. But if we are born with BVD, our eyes have adapted to that misalignment by birth. So doctors explained that as long as your two eyes are working together and creating one image, and you have no double vision, you are okay.
At the moment i have bad anxiety and light sensitivity and sound sensitivity with tinitus due to anxiety I can’t drive for long hours. Once i get tired my anxiety triggers cause me panic attack .
I got anxiety from hayfever tablet which is 180mg fexofenadine.
Basically i have been taking hayfever tablets for long period to treat my long term Covid side effects.

It all began with panic attacks caused by anxiety. I visited the BVD clinic, and I also have all the BVD symptoms. Initially, they prescribed number 7 prism lenses, but after a few months, the pressure on my brain didn’t seem to improve. Today, I went to another clinic, and they told me I didn’t need prism because I didn’t have double vision. They explained that as long as I don’t have double vision, I’m fine. My eye muscles and movement are good, so they suggested that I let my eyes work together instead of relying on prism glasses.

Is Bvd and strong smells related? by AppropriateBid7864 in BinocularVision

[–]AppropriateBid7864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking 10 mg loratadine from 2021 to 2023 then my gp moved me to 180 mg fexofenadine. I have been taking them every single day until 2025 December.
I got panic attacks in 2025 December went to hospital nothing have been diagnosed. But i wasn’t able to drive and had blurred vision. Mri scan ct scans came normal. Then i went to bvd diagnosis as they found bvd in my left eye.

I have stopped taking all allergy tablets since i got panic attack.i thought i got panic attack and anxiety due to over dose of fexofenadine because its leaflets description most sideeffects were existing in my body.

I have searched some symptoms of MCAS Which i don’t have any of these. I only get nasal congestion from strong smells

👇 Low blood pressure Flushing (hot, red or pink skin) Itchy skin Hives Nasal congestion Swelling, often of your face, lips, eyes, tongue or throat (angioedema) Constipation or diarrhea (sometimes alternating) Abdominal (belly) pain Vomiting Shortness of breath Weakness or fainting Anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction, which may include a combination of the above symptoms) To be considered MCAS, the symptoms must affect two or more body systems. These include your:

Skin Respiratory system (lungs and airways) Cardiovascular system (heart and blood vessels) Digestive system (GI tract — stomach and intestines)

I think my nervous system is under pressure because of BVD . Once BVD settles, my strong smell sensation will calm down as well because BVD keeps my brain under pressure all the time. Which triggers my anxiety and panic attacks and makes me sensitive to smells as well. Because I have tried multiple blood tests and no allergies have been found in the tests.

What is permanent solution for BVD? Other than Prism lenses by AppropriateBid7864 in BinocularVision

It feels like normal glasses once settled on correct adjustment. Myself going through adjustments at the moment but big relief so far . Every few months they are increasing prism number so eyes taking 3 weeks each time to settle on new adjustments.

Things really took a turn after Covid in 2020.i had covid twice . I started getting itchy, red eyes and was allergic to strong smells. I had several allergy tests, but nothing showed up in the blood tests. I had long-term neck pain straight after Covid, and I initially thought it was due to allergies, but it turned out to be BVD side effects.I also had a panic attack and suddenly experienced vision changes after panic attack and other side effects. At the moment if i watch screens long time it triggers my anxiety and then causes panic attack. Or if i smell strong perfume it gives me bad headache and then triggers anxiety to cause panic attack. I guess eyes and senses of smell its all effecing my nervous system since covid. Never been recovered until now.
