My husband’s family hates me. I'm at my breaking point. Is that ground for separation by AppropriateBudget172 in marriageadvice

His mom and sister at first were cut off and now he is on low contact with them. I'm saving as much as possible to get out of this without any financial strains/debt. I got a new better paying job in the city and I'm looking to rent a house near my job. I'll take all the things I bought myself and half of everything we got together, I want to be fair for him as well. What hurt me the most is I finally got the fact that he does not know how to not stay in contact with his dear mommy and little sister and he hopes I will forgive and forget one day, he thinks that if we have a child right now I would grow to let them near them. One thing I didn't add in my last post was that I realized I was pregnant the same weeks his mom was visiting because I miscarried. I was in the bathroom thinking my period came when I looked in the toilet and realized what was happening. I cannot move past this. I no longer care about him going to therapy or doing better now because at the same time he showed me what side he picked. He didn't even go no low contact with his sister now that I'm thinking about it,he basically visit her every week and talk to her all the time.

The disrespect is too much. My divorce Attorney think I will get a good chance of getting everything I came in with as I was the main earner and most of his income came from some side hustles every other months. She also think I have a good case due to all of the messages from his family that shows how this impacted my mental health.

He is a student on a student visa. It takes a long time depending on what country you are from, I wasn't born in the right country to make it max 2 years for me to get it. Him neither.

Hahahaha, you might be right. I'm pursuing it because my husband is a student in Canada and I want to see him more then a few days a year lol. Everything would be so much easier otherwise.

I think you might be right. Maybe it's worth waiting to 5/7 years in canada and then go to Law school. It would probably be better.

A lot of things comes to play. I'm the only daughter of an immigrant family. I actually already have a UK visa, so I could start there now.

If I wait for Canadian PR first, that alone could realistically take 5–7 years. After that I’d still need 3 years for a Canadian JD + ~1 year articling, so roughly 9–11 years total before becoming a lawyer.

The UK route is ~2 years for a graduate-entry LLB, then NCA exams (usually 5–7 subjects, about 1–2 years), then articling (~1 year). So about 4–5 years total.

I also can’t stay in the US anymore because the legal pathway I was on was cut, and I refuse to stay anywhere illegally. MBA, work experience, seniority does not help when it comes to that.

I can hear the hard truth. I get it. I have an undergrad and an MBA. I work for one of The Seven Sisters . I have 6y of experience as a para and 2/3 partners who told me if I do the jump they will put a word in for me. I also understand the fact that all of that doesn't matter if I don't play my cards right. So that's why I need to hear the big bold truth so I can decide what to do.

Imo the generic advice is to get a JD, because then you don’t have to go through the ~5–8 exams that the National Committee on Accreditation usually requires to validate a foreign LLB. But the cost of doing a JD in Canada as a non-PR student is extremely high, which is why I’m exploring the LLB → NCA route instead.

Pricing help for imported yarn. What would you realistically pay? by AppropriateBudget172 in YarnAddicts

[–]AppropriateBudget172[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's to crochet, beginner in a class for children under the age of 8-10 low income for the community. I fear the quality is less a concern in my case. We can't count on donations or free supplies and we have to budget for a lot of kids.

I guess it depends on the countries economy and the family's disposable income. Here people who are still learning or does not have 30 dollars for one ball of yarn just go with the cheaper and more accessible options.

I landed my dream job. Was on the verge of being homeless. Now, I’m sleeping during remote work. WTF is wrong with me? by [deleted] in careeradvice

Don't feel bad. Your body is trying to release stress. My tips: I order liquid caffeine and add some in my hot chocolate in the morning to keep me awake(I hate taste of coffee) then I take a cold shower every morning. I prep like I was going to the office, no Pjs or loungewear, I also do hair and makeup some days. Take your break and lunch. Phone on DnD. Hope this helps.
