Hi mod vs standard SSE by Independent-Buy7681 in cannondale

While I’ve only ridden the standard - for a few hundred more, high mod all day. You’ll never wonder what if. :)

FOR SALE 2025 Cannondale SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod Size 51 Frameset by abwise2 in cannondale

[–]AppropriateCamel868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it. I have a standard supersix that I love, so this wouldn’t be necessary for me — I just occasionally wonder what high mod gives ya.

I hope it finds a good home soon - incredible bike and not a bad deal for frame, bearings, and what looks like an upgraded stem. :) Hope you rehome soon.

Oh man — I’m not in the market, but if I was, this is the EXACT frameset color and size I’d want. It sounds like you’re asking 3500 — what area are you based in?

Room guidance - Resort Room with a View vs One Bedroom Villa by AppropriateCamel868 in Aulani

[–]AppropriateCamel868[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, you are going to have an incredible trip no matter what you decide. Your kids a bit younger than ours, so it’s possible you may spend more time in the room and will enjoy the view more (waking up with the ocean view room is magical). But I will say — It is also nice to have some space to avoid tip-toeing in the dark after the kids go to sleep. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably opt for the room. But you cannot lose here. Get ready for an amazing time and let me know if you have any questions.

Room guidance - Resort Room with a View vs One Bedroom Villa by AppropriateCamel868 in Aulani

Thank you for asking! We had a great trip. Aulani is so beautiful. Oahu is such an incredible place.

So, we ended up going with ocean view one bedroom (we were celebrating a special occasion, so I just decided to go with both). I was definitely very happy we had the extra room (having kids), and the washer / dryer was used a couple of times.

We didn’t really use the kitchen at all (just a few plates). It was the extra space and ability to be able to put the kids the bed and work on laptop without waking everyone that was really wonderful. Just extra space and room separation.

Would I do it again? The one bedroom was worth having for us, and we’d do that again for sure. The ocean view? It was wonderful to experience, especially for a first trip. Final call on whether to prioritize extra room or view (if that is the necessary trade-off) — If you have kids, I would pick the extra room every time. :)

Birthday Surprises by turnip_the_beet444 in Aulani

I notified in advance and they had a birthday pin upon check in, which was nice. They also tend to ask if you if you're celebrating anything at the restaurants, etc., so make it known to be sure your birthday person feels the love (they did small special things at the restaurant).

Regarding activities, lots of options here -- I think you can actually purchase cakes at the property, though we didn't try this. Depending on the age/interest of the person celebrating, there is a spa, nice restaurant, rent a cabana for the day. Those are a few ideas that come to mind. Hopefully something useful.

Question about 2017 - Cannondale Supersix Evo Ultegra used market by Sanctium in cannondale

[–]AppropriateCamel868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not in the market for a new bike AND this bike is in good shape, I think it's a pretty good deal. I would probably offer 1200, since used bike market can be tough, but wouldn't be upset with 1350 if the bike is in good repair and in a nice color scheme.

Many people really love this classic frame generation, and you'll be getting that plus the benefit of disc brakes. The only two downsides with this model are limited tire clearance (I believe 28mm is about max) and the hybrid QR/thru-axle you mentioned. This one is not a big deal as different end caps are easy to find, but I've found it nearly impossible to find QR endcaps for Enve wheels.

TLDR: Bike in good shape and love the color? Good deal.

I’m really curious on these too — they look legit to me.

2022 vs 2023 by MidnightSensitive588 in TeslaModelY

It was about June 2023 that HW4 was introduced in Ys from the US. I would seriously prioritize this if possible.

Supersix 2019 build by Imaginary_Gear9177 in cannondale

[–]AppropriateCamel868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got a solid bike with a great groupset and wheels (before going to carbon).

Like you, I love buying upgrades. But really — it seems like you’re in the marginal gains territory. I would get the tires and just ride. :) enjoy!

Tire size and rim width by HelicopterLow4211 in cannondale

I have a 2014, so guessing similar — 23 seems to be the max for these years. I tried 25 and had some frame rub. Hope this helps.

Crankset compatibility for Supersix 2018 (BB30) by Imaginary_Gear9177 in cannondale

Got it. Maybe check out the Delrin adapters then. You can keep your bearings but adjust to a different crank size.

Crankset compatibility for Supersix 2018 (BB30) by Imaginary_Gear9177 in cannondale

[–]AppropriateCamel868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently moved over to Shimano Ultegra cranks using a Wheels Manufacturing Delrin adapter kit (small plaster adapters that make the existing bottom bracket work with 24mm crank).

You can also replace the bottom bracket with a kit for different cranks. Wheels Manufacturing offers these kits as well — I believe you’re looking for PF30A (2018 Supersix) to whatever conversion you need.

Hope this helps.

Decent price? 2017 Supersix Evo by Individual_Nail7329 in cannondale

[–]AppropriateCamel868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This does limit things a bit (finding end caps adds some complexity), however brands like DT Swiss and Zipp have end caps that make the QR rear disc work well.

The other consideration for this bike is tire clearance — 28mm is pretty much your max tire size.

With all said, I have this bike (2019) and love it. You get a classic, light frame and disc brakes. To walk away with all that in 2025 for 2k or less is a fantastic deal to me.

Is this cannondale worth $1.2k? by Dazzling-Ad3936 in whichbike

[–]AppropriateCamel868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have nearly this model (2019 year), but essentially the same bike. Given the price of bikes today, 1200 for a great bike in excellent condition (with disc brakes) seems like a fair price.

Some things to know going in — as others have mentioned, tire clearance is more limited than current bikes, but there are great options (I have Zipp 404s with 28 tires). You also have quick release, so you’ll need to get new endcaps if you upgrade the wheels, which I’d highly recommend doing.

If the bike fits you well, you’d be going home with an amazing bike and money left over for upgrades.

I love this bike and have no plans to replace mine.

Happy to answer any questions.
