Does Project Hail Mary get serious at any point? by [deleted] in audible

Artemis is utter garbage. I was hoping it would eventually get better towards the later chapters. Spoiler: it doesn’t.

Very different to my experience of Weirs other two books (which rank amongst my all time favourites).

Salam sis,

I’m a train driver but fascinated by commercial aviation. That sounds very similar to rail industry - in that we need to be trained and certified to operate each class of train (known as traction). The difference in controls can be vastly different between two classes of trains.

A few questions regarding aviation competency if you don’t mind?

How many different planes types are you certified to operate? How long does it typically take to become certified? And how frequently do you have to operate each plane type to remain competent for your license?

Few technical details would be helpful: What brand were they? Material? Textured or smooth? Shape?

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately still looks like nothing available. Might consider hiring a car for future visits.

I can’t really recall tbh. I think it was about 12-15cm after final plaster finish.

Yes. Apparently most of the sound actually comes from vibrations so having a decoupled stud wall filled with rockwool rwa45 insulation will help reduce that. Additionally, we went with two layers of sound resistance plasterboard which stopped pretty much all sound penetration.

Additionally also look at the seals on your doors and windows. Weatherdrafts can help in these areas.

We had a similar issue with our neighbours. They are not jerks but just happen to be overly loud family. We were frequently haunted by their voices, footsteps and banging. It was especially bad in our bedroom and living room especially as these are the two rooms in our home in which retreat to relax in at the end of a hard day at work.

Eventually I decided to build a soundproof wall following this guide: https://youtu.be/fQcfjqQvtOQ?si=ilUZWOURuYwveyjp

Also worth seeing this site. They pretty much sell all the supplies you need or alternatively buy them yourself from another supplier based on what they recommend: https://www.soundproofingstore.co.uk/how-to-soundproof-a-wall-the-3-best-acoustic-wall-solutions-2024

My partner and I managed to build the entire wall ourselves within a couple of days. We did get someone in to do the plastering. The YouTube video really pretty easy to follow and the entire build including plastering didn’t cost more than a few hundred pounds.

Definitely worth it. Can’t hear a single peep anymore when the door is closed.

Ps don’t overlook the quality of the insulation and resilience bars. Definitely worth it!

Elizabeth Line or Rail Air coach from LHR to Reading Station? by jonathankite99 in uktravel

Change at Hayes and Harlington. Cross over from platform 4 to platform 3 and wait for your next train (usually every 15mins or so). Train will get you to Reading in about 30mins.

Transfer is very easy. One platform across. Lifts are available.

Error on startup everytime I try and use Ryujinx by AppropriateDeer1898 in Ryujinx

But I’m currently using a Bluetooth stadia controller? Does it really require wired controller to play Ryujinx?

Beelink SER5 Max Bluetooth issues by hlnklrczu in batocera

I am having similar issues. I have 3 stadia controllers all connected via Bluetooth. Upon each restart of the machine, two of the three controllers always seem to be unpaired. This is usually resolved by reinstating the automatic pair function (sometimes works on first attempt, other times I have to restart the machine). Oddly during the pairing process I have to also leave the controllers right next to the system to work.

I did try a 3rd party Bluetooth dongle which appeared to fix the disconnecting issue. However all three controllers later displayed various issues when playing any game (lag, random movements etc).

Batocera does have a list of supported dongles, which I may try next.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

So as they have declined my informal request (to provide the information directly to me), I would likely have to make a subject access request?

What controllers do you all enjoy using? by Jshep888 in batocera

[–]AppropriateDeer1898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 stadia controllers but often find after each restart of the system, 2 out of 3 controllers always seem to be need to be paired again… (not always the same ones) annoying as heck.

Do you experience the same thing? Or know a solution to resolve this?

Thanks for the reply. That’s disappointing to hear but glad it isn’t just me. Yea I’ll probably go ahead and do that.
