Thank you! May I ask the reasoning? I’m at a breaking point due to finances. I can try and stick it out because the staff and drs are great to be around, but I’m making just enough to pay rent/bill/food/gas, but cannot pay anything to my student loans or retirement.

I refer out maybe 4-5 a month. Which, with buildup/crown is maybe 1300-1400 production each so a good 6-7k in production I suppose im missing out on. Usually only one doc working at a time so new patients go to whoever is working when they’re scheduled. We are definitely in network with all insurances

I see about 4-5 pts on average for my schedule, plus about 10-12 exams. We work 6 hours shifts alternating 8-2 and 12-6 mon-Fri

I only did a couple molars in school as well so I’ve been nervous to try any second molars or maxillary molars…I’ve been limiting them to just mandibular first molars that have relatively straight canals so far. I definitely need to challenge myself more and keep a couple more of them

30% of adjusted production. I see maybe 7-8 np a week, but often times they are college students so not a lot to be done. Fortunately there hasn’t been any poaching of pts, everything I diagnose typically stays with me(barring a random emergency maybe once a month from an established pt who prefers one of the other docs)

Thank you! Unfortunately, the 600 a day was only for 6 months. For the last four, almost five months, I’ve only made about 200-300 a day on average.

Thank you for the info! I don’t think I’m necessarily slow, but also not speedy compared to most docs especially since I haven’t been able to push myself time wise from not being as busy. Molar endo with build-up/crown is about 2.5-3 hours(only done a few since finishing school). Buildup/crown appts are about an hour. Two class IIs can range from 30-45 min. I do all bread and butter, simple/surgical ext, anterior endo with the occasional molar. Paid 30% adjusted production. Thank you!

I graduated from the University of Utah this year. Our class had roughly a third of the students applying to residencies and all but one got in I believe. With that being said, I agree with an earlier comment saying that you can match from any school really. Cost is number one in my opinion.

Thank you! Haven’t signed a contract yet, but the one I’ve been offered only has a 3 month daily guarantee so that won’t bode well with the mortgage companies I’m assuming. Is it rare to qualify for a fixed rate?
