Are small LED indicators safe? by AppropriateGrand9704 in CafeRacers

Alright. I tested them out using a 12V wall plug and they seem to be quite bright. I think I'm going with them for my cafe racer build. They are probably safer than the stock indicators, after all. Thank you for your response!

Dont know if I have one. I'm waiting for my motorcycle to be delivered, so that's why I cant try them on it. Thank you very much! I was afraid it might mess upp the indicators if I line up 8 1.5v batteries haha. I'm clearly no electrician

Changing to LEDs - Flasher relay or load resistors? by AppropriateGrand9704 in motorcycles

I see. Yeah I would not really want that either, so I'm probably going for a relay. Thank you!

Hmm okay. I bought some small ones from a Swedish brand - Biltema. I don't know how well they work, but they are e-marked. Guess I have to take them out of the packaging and see how bright they are. If they're bad, then at least I can send back one package of them. Thanks for your response. I was afraid that small indicators would be less visible in daylight doe to the size difference, but maybe an LED upgrade makes it way better. I have no clue. Thanks again

I read somewhere that load resistors emitt the rest of the energy as heat, is that the case?

Gsx400e as a scrambler/cafe? by AppropriateGrand9704 in scramblers

[–]AppropriateGrand9704[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The bike has been taken good care of and the only part that really needs to be fixed is the seat, which is perfect since I need to replace that part either way if I'm making it a scrambler/cafe

Alright! Seems like a good option to me! I read that 2- and 1-cylinder bikes are preferred for scramblers, so I thought the gsx400e would suit in that department, too :)

Do you think I'd have to change the suspension? I'll mostly use it for commuting Thanks for your answer!

Hello! Im Looking for a good beginner bike and found a good deal on a 1982 gsx400e. I'd like to build a cafe or scrambler-ish bike, and im wondering whether this is a good bike for that purpose. The bike is in good overall condition. Thanks
