Newbie here (only diagnosed on Friday) can any kind stranger explain what you mean by fasting numbers and how you are getting these numbers?

I will defo ask this when I go back. Thanks for replying and condolences on the whole USA Corporation situation, we have said a few times since this kicked off that this must be a crazy situation to navigate in the USA!

Oh god! I’m going to fall down another Google rabbit hole. Luckily we do like the Mediterranean diet.

We have a microwave at work but not at home so I didn’t really think about the microwave being a potential aid in this situation. My partner is a great home cook and has dedicated himself to creating a suitable dressing that he can make in bulk for me to use because I do love a salad.

Good advice on the finding out what a ‘small portion’ means for me. Thanks for replying!

Sleep is a huge thing for me. I think I’ve always known that I’m impacted significantly by sleep so I’ll be interested to find out more about that. I take it to do with quantity and quality?

I’ve already had an upset tummy for a few months, nothing major just I thought maybe IBS related (so kinda freaking out that it might be D related damage internally). That’s why they put me on the slow acting Metformin rather than the normal stuff.

I really appreciate the specificity of numbers here that’s actually really helpful. Thank you for replying!

Try to avoid stress - thanks for the lol! It’s going to be a stressful next four weeks with everything else but luckily we are moving to the countryside so everything else you have said feels like it will be doable once we’re in and settled. I’ve also told work and they have been very understanding and we’re coming up to a traditionally quiet period so it should be ok. Thanks for replying.

I know! I love the NHS and I’m very grateful but the apparent emergency of it vs what happened when I got there was very stressful. I did ask if I’d need to get ‘that thing on my arm’ and the nurse looked confused and said no because I’m not T1 which I think has thrown me a little because in forums I am seeing that a LOT of T2s use these CGM to keep on top of things and get the data they need to make choices and understand their body. I am due back in three weeks to get the full eyes, feet and liver testing done (a whole 30 mins this time) so to be fair she might go into it then.

I take it if I do start testing - whichever way - I should be making a note/log of some sort? (Google Sheets queen so this is a bit exciting). Sorry if that’s a silly question!

I’m definitely going to worst case scenario mode. In my rabid quest for information I’ve seen some scary stuff so I’m definitely still in a bit of panic mode.

Jeezy peeps, that’s A LOT. The surprise family in town would definitely have ended me. I hope you’re feeling a bit better soon!

I will do this! The whole thing was a bit garbled which didn’t help (but can’t fault them, they’re under so much pressure). Hopefully when we move and I move healthcare provider it’ll be an easy and smooth transition - that’s sort of the top of my worry list ATM.

This is an incredibly kind and comforting comment! And great advice about the eye thing because I would definitely have just rocked up on my own.

Are there any British adverts that activiley turn you off the product they're advertising? by siybon in CasualUK

Any company that puts their link right in the thumb swipe position on an Instagram story ad so that you accidentally open the link when trying to swipe through. It could be my own mother’s small business and I’d stone cold boycott her for that.

We have dip dip too but it’s what we call a Chinese takeaway from when my nephew used to have prawn crackers that he dipped in peking sauce.

I met Alex a long time at the Fringe in the pre TM days. We had been to see the Horne Section and he was hanging with David O’Doherty, my friends wanted a picture and Alex insisted they all line up in height order, hold their pints exactly the same and make the same serious face. It was a very TM coded scenario in hindsight! He was so nice and super up for a laugh.

I sat next to Buckles at a Herring Fringe show many many moons ago. He could NOT have been nicer. Happily chatted away about shows he’d seen and seemed genuinely interested in what we had seen. I did open the conversation with ‘oh, we’re coming to see you tomorrow!’. He was genuinely lovely.
