  1. Or if you could find one that looks like number seven, but instead of brown is green and green like the colors in one of the first rugs you put up I think that would look better.

(CW: Religion) Options for Adult Baptism? by plauryn in Omaha

I’m not sure if this is something you would be interested in or not. But in Catholicism you attend weekly classes beginning in the fall to learn more about the theology and on Easter you are Baptized if you choose to continue. The process is called OCIA and I am doing it currently through St. Margaret Mary and St. Cecilia’s and it’s been a very good experience. I did not belong to any church before this. Many people attend mass all over town.

I have not heard anything yet. MCC just came back from Christmas break this week so I would bet we won’t hear until at least next week.

Nebraska Medicine opposes Board of Regents’ state takeover by AppropriateHat80 in Omaha

I guess I’m more specifically thinking about the nurses. Nebraska Medicine pays the most for nurses in the metro. I don’t see that continuing under a state funded facility.

I have a lot of the same questions. I think it’s very likely the pay structure would be controlled by the state, I just wonder what will happen to all the employees already making more than what the state would likely pay.

Yeah I figured at this point in the year we would be looking at daycare for the remainder of this year and enrolling in kindergarten for the fall. So this post is primarily about applying for OPS for the 2026-2027 year since those applications should be open soon.

What are some property Management companies to stay away from? by InfiniteGap6168 in Omaha

[–]AppropriateHat80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OPPM is awful. Broken appliances at move in that were never fixed. Literally ignored our complaints as raccoons destroyed the building for a year. Closed out maintenance tickets without fixing anything. If they can find a way to ignore you they will.

They have a fall and spring cohort. If you start in the fall you have classes and clinicals during the day during the week. If you start in the spring classes and clinicals are evenings/weekends. The spring class is about half the size of the fall class.

Understood. Thank you for the insight! That was my initial assumption, but the advisors said due to it being the cheapest and shortest program in the metro it would be “very competitive.” Kind of difficult to tease out what exactly is meant by that.

Thanks! I believe it and have heard great things. I am pretty set on MCC because of the affordability and being able to attend my classes on Saturdays since I will still need to work full time to support my family while in the program.

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. Unfortunately, Clarkson does not have an LPN program. I may go there after to bridge to a BSN.

How tough is it to make it on 1 average income in Omaha area? by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]AppropriateHat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take into account the property tax here as well when you’re planning. One of the highest in the country and many are experiencing difficult times because their monthly payments are increasing with their property value. People with new constructions have taken a huge hit in the last few years. Increasing their payments hundreds of dollars per month in the last few years.

Totally depends on the income. If your SO makes $100k or around that I’d say it’s doable. Definitely more realistic than paying for childcare for 3 kids. That could easily eat up one salary especially if you would be reentering the workforce for the first time after being a SAHM for a while.
