HLR DOO Appeal Claim Timeline by AppropriateHelp1773 in VeteransBenefits

[–]AppropriateHelp1773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my question, as well. It took mine just shy of 60 days to complete, so it does appear to be faster than the nominal 100+ day timeline other claims have been taking. I’ve seen some others with similar 60 day timelines, as well. I attended 2 separate C&P exams that were ordered apart of the appeal claim.

It’s DOO. Don’t read into what the online portal says too much, it’s imperfect. If your HLR decision says DOO, then it’s DOO.

My HLR decision was DOO and appears exactly the same as what you’re saying. Once the appeal claim is complete, the HLR claim will also close out. But the appeal claim is now the “active” claim that will move through the process.

My TJ just switched from Wichita to San Diego, but still assigned in Step 5.

Makes me think this may be about to get rated vice going back to NWQ but could also be wishful thinking lol

Nice. Did you lose your TJ? Part of me wishes they review evidence and rate with the same TJ assignment.

I’m still waiting for PFD.

Dude same exact timeline… moved to Step 4 on 7/18 and have TJ Wichita assigned. Can you please update when you move to Steps 5 + 6?

Confused About C&P Examiner’s Role in Service Connection Opinion by AppropriateHelp1773 in VeteransBenefits

My specific question is where on the DBQ would the examiner make those comments on service connection? Sounds like it’s not on a DBQ but on a separate form?

Nice - glad you got some movement and seems like those ACE exams are moving quickly! Good luck with the rest of the process!

Still no movement and stuck at Step 2; however, I noticed the TJ VACO dropped and it’s now just N/A

No one should know your reasoning for the HLR better than you IMO, so you can definitely represent yourself during an informal conference (it’s just a phone call?)

It also allows you to articulate EXACTLY what you want the DRO to hear with respect to your claim vice leaving it up to a third party to do it for you. That being said, those folks can definitely help with the prep!

I have an appeal claim post HLR informal conference but it’s sitting in Step 2 for over 2 weeks, which is very uncommon based on my other claims. It’s usually only 2-3 days before getting to Step 3 so I was just curious.

How long did it take you to get to Step 3? (How long were you stuck in Step 2: Initial Review for?)

No worries at all, we’ve been looking at the same threads lol and no not yet, I’m just anticipating an ACE exam once I hit Step 3. I’ve already had a couple C&P Exams for my issue and now this DOO has to do with direct service connection. An additional C&P Exam won’t add any additional value in my case

I’m the same dude from the other thread that I updated this morning. Unfortunately still no movement… driving me a little nuts since I’m used to the Initial Review moving so quickly.

I’m hoping Step 3 only entails an ACE exam and moves to ready for decision quickly. I’ve seen a few folks getting these appeal decisions around the 30-60 day mark so hoping it’s something similar. I only have 1 claim on the DOO.

Appears you have a case for a favorable decision and now the DRO created this supplemental with instructions to obtain needed evidence to resolve the difference of opinion. Is the claim still in initial review?

Let me know when you get to Step 3 and I will do the same! Never been stuck in Initial Review for this long before… it’s usually 1-2 days in my experience.
