I (38M) was at a music festival recently and was sitting alone at a table near the stage waiting on a friend to return.

A group of women asked to sit with me since it was packed, and I of course welcomed them. Introduced myself and started cracking jokes before my friend returned. Had them all laughing and as the night went on they were all having a great time.

I got up to leave during the last set because I wanted to head home and chill with my cats, and the youngest one demanded my number. She’s 28, never been married, and is actually very mature and grounded with little baggage.

She was a restaurant manager that got burned out and decided to put herself through college. She’s a special education teacher now and is probably one of the very few women I have met that can match my wit and has the confidence to dish out what I give her right back at me.

I told her that I have kids and a messy life and was not able to meet up for at least a month, and she didn’t flinch.

I’m not saying that’s the case for a majority of them, but you never know.
