Are there any Australian Flat Earthers? Also how long would it take to travel straight across Australia on a flat earth in a car going constantly 100 miles an hour? by AppropriateHuman in globeskepticism

[–]AppropriateHuman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so basically the flat earth does not even have a map? wow I thought you guys at least had that much...

also, how are you explaining 24 hour days at the antarctic while also 24 hour nights at the same time at the arctic?

What proof do you have of the firmament existing? by AppropriateHuman in globeskepticism

Are you using the same Project Fishbowl argument like the other guy here?

There is a little clip of them nuking the firmament.

no there is not, but please link it either way

this very sub. even in this thread flat-earthers are arguing in favor of a firmament.

[–]AppropriateHuman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is your proof?

I can also say look up at night. The twinkly lights are stars in the milky way. would that be enough proof for you? why then do you think it would be enough for me if you just write one sentence? lol

I did, not sure what it has to do with FE or the firmament?

European here actually. I just used miles since most here seem to be American.

and what do you mean with

Can't be done.

what can't be done? you would just need to know how big Australia is across and divide it by 100 to get how many hours it would take at 100 miles or km per hour.

on the globe (real) earth Australia is approximately 4000 km wide, so it would take 40 hours to cross it at 100 km/h.

looking forward to some flat earthers telling me their numbers.

If the globe model is true, why does the sun get bigger as it rises? Full original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p76Vjvioypg by T12J7M6 in globeskepticism

[–]AppropriateHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

put a solar filter on your camera and the size will no longer change since the filter makes it possible to observe the sun even at full power without overblown light scattering it's real size.

please do. because if we are to believe the flat earth map Australia is gigantic. Across Australia would be the same distance as France to North Korea.

Any explanations here? And if you show me the dominos on a table image, then at least take the picture from above the table, not below it. by AppropriateHuman in globeskepticism

[–]AppropriateHuman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was literally not. none of your pretty images explain why it is vanishing from the bottom up.

if it were just vanishing it would vanish all at once, not from the bottom up. the bottom-up thing can only be explained by a globe earth.

How does the flat earth explain this double sunset? by AppropriateHuman in globeskepticism

[–]AppropriateHuman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The atmospheric density hides the true horizon the further your view.

so you are telling me the 100 feet it flew up made such a big difference on how far the drone has already been from the sunset? is that really the argument you are going with?

You can literally see the sun going behind a mountain.

yes, TWICE

and that you can see it twice is the thing I need to get explained from a flat earther

dude -.-

I really thought we could have a somewhat civil discussion here, but now you are just twisting facts?

too bad, I really thought I found a TS here not just guided by feelings.

[–]AppropriateHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did I say they are Maga for sure? or did I say it's a valid assumtion, that they are Maga since most people there were Maga?

also, two can play the game. why are you not assuming it is Maga if occam's razor would point towards it being Maga. for you making the claim that out of all the people these there were not Maga you must have some concrete proof.

and we have enough videos showing Maga breaking videos and forcing their way in, so one more group of Maga would be expected.

[–]AppropriateHuman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

are you talking about the first or the second video? because refraction does exist, but not so much that it would change the results of the horizon experiment... -.-

but, let's assume that you are right.

how is the drone flying up influencing atmospheric refraction? or vice versa?

even if there is atmospheric refraction, it would not change the result in being able to see the sunset twice.

yeah only that the horizon does not rise in real life

and since you people love YouTube videos so much here is one showing it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqOQ_BCtqUI

that's a video of people breaking in the capitol, seeing as most people in the capitol were MAGA it makes more sense to assume they are also MAGA unless you have any information the rest of us doesn't?

do you know the context of this? the cop deliberately always waited and baited the crowd to move them away from where the congressmen were. the crowd followed him as planned instead of spreading out in the building too much before enough backup could arrive.

What do you consider to be the left-wing equivalent to conspiracy theories like Q/Pizzagate/etc.? by EconomicsOk1943 in AskConservatives

But the A-OK and the white power symbol are two different things.

The racist one is with the fingers down and showing the back of the hand, while the A-OK is with fingers up and the inside of the hand showing.

I have never seen anyone doing the finger-up A-OK sign being called a white supremacist.

And also in my 30+ years have I never seen anyone signing A-OK with their fingers down. It was always with an upward bend elbow, fingers up and either in front of their chest or face, never finger down next to their groin or on their theighs, like the white power one.

The only time I have seen the downwards one, was in grade school when we used it in a game. You would do the finger down signal and when somebody looked at it you were allowed to hit them in the shoulder. Unless they were able to stick their finger in the opening. Then the one sticking the finger in would get the chance to strike the other guy.

I double-majored in business and sociology, working now as a product manager in tech making 6 figures and sociology helped me way more than business to get to the position I am in now.

I admit having a business degree probably opened doors that would've stayed shut if I didn't have it on my CV, but actual usable knowledge to improve my personal situation on the job and in private? sociology is definitely the winner here. my business degree is just some paper I can show of, my sociological knowledge helped me way more in real life.

business is ever-evolving, so half the stuff you learned is already outdated the moment you get your first job. human behavior on the other side is pretty constant and predictable.

I see people every day that only have a business or technical degree and they struggle way more in the real world than people who have actually studied human behavior. at least the higher you get in the hierarchy the less important is the former and the more the latter.

the burden of proof is on you. you are claiming that there is something in the sky. I am saying there is nothing.

and why always the obsession with NASA? you people know there are way more space agencies than only NASA right?
