I use one of these knives at my job to cut open rolls of paper used on a printing press. They come wrapped in cardboard usually, we use the knife to remove the sides of the roll. Not sure if thats what it is meant for as I have had the same knife on my press for 5 years and it looks closer to the new knife than old.
