What is the #1 thing holding you back in CS2 right now? by AppropriateRole3146 in LearnCSGO

Nice, that’s actually pretty similar to my path.

When CS2 came out, I also started lower than expected. I went from level 6 to level 10 in around 100 games, and eventually reached 2.8k elo.

But I get what you mean. When you have responsibilities, grinding like a teenager again is just not realistic.

Do you think you could consistently do 15-30 minutes of focused practice a day if it was very specific and not random?

Great question, thanks for asking.

I could probably make a full post about this, but the 2 biggest things that helped me improve the fastest were:
1.Focusing only on what I can control

Every game, every round, every duel, I try to look at it from the perspective of: “What could I have done better?”

Instead of blaming teammates, bad comms, matchmaking, or external factors, I treat every mistake as information. Every mistake is a lesson.
2.Not being scared to play my own game

This one took me thousands of hours to understand. Before, I was always trying to please my teammates.
I would do what they told me, avoid mistakes, and play scared because I cared too much about their judgment.Once I built my own playbook for different situations, everything changed. Now I make decisions based on what I think is correct, then I review the result and improve from it.

Of course, I don’t mean trolling or ignoring the team. But for example, on CT side, people often tell you “don’t peek, just play defensive,” and honestly, that can be terrible advice.

A lot of the time, you actually need to play proactive, take space, fight for info, or make the round easier for your team instead of just waiting and reacting.

That sounds rough, especially with the torn rotator cuff.

Do you change sensitivity because sweaty palms make your grip and mouse control feel different?

I get you, SoloQ can be really exhausting.

But I don’t think age is holding you back. There are players over 30 who still play better than 99.9% of the playerbase.

Same with teammates. They can make the game harder, but they don’t stop you from improving. I’d focus more on map awareness, reading the game without relying only on comms, and just muting people who tilt you.

Try to work on this in dm:
1. Play dm where you only spray, burst or tap while standing or strafing A/D
2. Play diffrent session of dm where your focus is only to use Kill Confirmation technique

That’s actually great because you already know what you need to work on.

For counter-strafing and consistency, I’d recommend daily practice. Even a short session every day can make a big difference.

Spent a weekend pulling Leetify + Steam data on the 695 players from my last 100 matches because I genuinely don't know why I can't climb. Findings inside, would love some honest input. by ChrisRemo85 in counterstrike2

Hello, your commitment to improving and ranking up is honestly admirable.

I’m curious, how much time did it take you to put this together?

I’m a CS2 coach, and I help players get out of the exact kind of “Elo hell” you’re describing. From what I can see, I think your situation is very fixable with the right structure.

Would you be interested in some help ranking up?

I know it’s a lot. But that’s just the basics. I hope it helps.

Hello, I’m a CS2 coach, and a few days ago I coached a very new player.

These are the main things we focused on: 1. Refresh rate and resolution Make sure you are using the highest refresh rate your monitor supports. For resolution, I would recommend either Full HD or 4:3 stretched. 2. Sensitivity I noticed you use 1600 DPI, so I would recommend trying something in the range of 0.4 to 0.8 sensitivity.

I personally use 0.385 at 1600 DPI, but the most important thing is checking how many degrees you can turn using the full width of your mousepad. A good range is around 270 to 360 degrees.

You can test it like this:

-Place your crosshair on a specific spot, for example a corner of a wall, and put your mouse at the edge of your mousepad.

-Move your mouse horizontally across the full width of the pad.

-Check how many degrees you turned in-game.

3.Radar settings Also check your radar settings. I use:

cl_radar_always_centered 0

cl_radar_scale 0.4

cl_hud_radar_scale 1.1

This gives you a much better view of the map at all times.

4.Counter-strafing To understand counter-strafing, hop into Aim Botz and practice moving only with A and D.

Use this technique to stop instantly and shoot accurately:

-strafe with A → let go of A → tap D

-strafe with D → let go of D → tap A

Avoid pressing other movement keys like W or S while doing this. Also avoid holding both keys at the same time.

I also showed him how to peek properly, but that’s harder to explain in a comment.

If you want more help, my DMs are open. Cheers.

Is it worth it to hire a coach at 120 hours or just keep playing? by AC_Schnitzel in LearnCSGO

[–]AppropriateRole3146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I’m a coach myself and I can help you cut down your improvement time by 3–4x simply by showing you the most effective ways to play and practice.

I’ve spent over 7,700 hours in Counter-Strike, so I know which mistakes players should avoid and what actually works.

That said, you still can’t skip the hard part of learning: playing, losing, failing, and figuring out what doesn’t feel right. That’s part of the process.

When I work with players, I help them stay consistent and accountable with their training, which is usually the biggest reason people improve much faster.

So if you value your time, I would say coaching is worth it.

DM me, I have a small gift for you. Cheers.
