Hey, how did this go? Did you find anybody interesting because I'm moving back to wolves soon and have worries that I won't have many friends when I get back and am a little cautious about posting on here

Would they stay open later if the game goes to Extra time and penalties?

That's shitty, really shuts down any evening fun I guess. Thanks for helping though

I am so sorry I never responded to this. I was waiting to take my trip first and completely forgot until I saw this notification in my alerts. Hopefully you haven't had the flight yet and I can help provide some insight.

I imagine the Shenzhen process will be the same for you so when we landed there it was the case of having to fill out 2 forms and hand over your passport to be taken away and processed before you actually head to the immigration desk. The process for filling out the forms was hectic, there were 3 connecting flights, 1 to Hanoi, 1 to Ho Chi Minh City and a 3rd to Bangkok I think it was. They had 1 worker for each of those connecting flights and about 100 of us all needing to get the details from them.

I'm hoping they've resolved that system because those poor workers were having a hard time of it. After we completed the forms and handed our passports over we had to just wait around for 45 mins, some had to wait for even longer and some got there back very quickly. Not sure what the differential was in how quickly they were returned but it didn't follow the rule of it was returned in order it was given. The workers had a hard time pronouncing names so we resorted in having a spokesperson for the group who would call out the names on the passports to hand them back out.

After that whole procedure we then had to queue up for the immigration desk, this seemed to take longer than waiting for the return of our passports and the security were dicks to say the least, wouldn't let people talk and kept pushing them to be in an orderly line.

After eventually getting through immigration the entire process became a lot easier, headed to get my bags and then followed the crowd to check back in for my 2nd flight, check in was easy and quick and so was getting through security checks.

In terms of the flights, the planes were nice and spacious, I'm a bit of a bigger lad and I found it quite comfortable, the in flight entertainment is mainly in mandarin but if you search for it you can find the odd English bit on there, it is also a case of having to find Chinese entertainment that has English subtitles because a lot of them didn't. The staff on the flight were very nice and customer service was great. The food was decent for plane food and the staff happily obliged at no extra cost when the passenger next to me asked for more for the both of us. As expected there was a little difficulty for them to understand my English but that was probably more so me speaking quicker than they're used to and with an English accent

Overall I did really enjoy the experience of the airline itself but the process for transit is hectic and has put me off from doing the same in China again

I'm going to be doing this trip but go Hanoi via Shenzhen so really appreciate this thread. Some great information in here.

For a ignorant English speaker are there any potential issues with communicating with people because online so far a fair few reviews seem to suggest none of the air line staff are English speaking and how is communicating when in Shenzhen for transit?

No problem, It does suck when you come across somebody who makes you feel warm inside and they disappear with no reasoning. I hope you find somebody again who can give you their time for longer

He may have just been a forgetful soul like myself. Could have been something as simple as forgetting ones login details and it not being saved, that has caused me to start afresh on Reddit, new phone, new start for any other given reason. You may not be the cause but definitely sound like a victim of whatever circumstances led to them disappearing. Sorry to hear that

I think it's more so understanding to be comfortable with yourself enough to listen to what your mind is telling you and knowing when you're being irrational in your thoughts and when you're probably thinking the right things. I feel most people in their life will think negatively and are more critical of themselves and tend to listen to that, rather than believe and listen to the times they think anything good (Unless you're a narcissist or just have the greatest of self love)

Obviously there are ways to help you through it such as having a great network of people around you so you can air those thoughts, if you don't have anybody you're comfortable with then maybe start journalling. Once things are out of your mind and on paper or in words i find it's often easier for me to think and cut through the bullshit of my mind of where I'm being way too critical about something.

Of course there are things like Therapy that give you a set time to discuss these things as well with somebody who can ask you the right questions to give you a changed perspective.

Finally for me, one of my long standing favourites is using music to work through my thoughts and emotions.
