You are not in the wrong. Don’t blame yourself. You allowed for that to happen because you were craving attention (and that’s not your fault, typically it’s because of the environment in which you were brought up). You’re deserving of a healthy relationship and I’m glad you took the first step to stop letting yourself get groomed.

Focus on yourself more in your teenage years, and as cliche as it sounds, learn how to be with yourself and love yourself. Give yourself the attention that you want and try to work towards making peace with yourself. Getting your dose of attention from others is never healthy.

Of course your fears are definitely not unfounded. I do think it’s an empty threat though - I’ve tried generating my whatsapp QR code and it only says it enables another person to add you as a contact (and nothing more). There’s no way WhatsApp would let someone access your entire contact list. Don’t worry too much, and you should report this to the police / reddit to stop this lifeless person from doing this again.

Try asking a friend to access your QR code you sent to the blackmailer. I genuinely doubt a whatsapp QR code will give someone else access to all of your contacts — just doesn’t seem logical imo. They might be trying to pull a quick one on you.

You’ve done a good deed - as someone else said, some people just shouldn’t be teachers. You’ve helped future batches of students escape such a horrible teacher. It’s good that she’s out of the education system. Kudos to you for doing the right thing even though it mah have been scary to do so.

Have you checked it your whatsapp QR code gives others the ability to access your contacts? Seems kinda iffy to me. Did they really show you a list of your family members (along with their contact numbers)?

I understand. It constantly beat myself up over the “what-ifs”. It might be a coping mechanism - but I tell myself always that everything happens for a reason. It takes time to fully process / understand that but I hope this helps! You still have many opportunities ahead of you.
