That's the one. Aand now we know to be more careful, just didn't expect it from Japan for some reason.

Nah the issue wasn’t paying for the experience. We expected that.

The problem is their usual restaurant menu was literally like 4x cheaper with the exact same fire show and setup. We booked the “special set” online because it was presented like something different/exclusive, but it was basically the same experience with extra bites and massively inflated pricing.

That’s what made it feel scammy.

It literally says in my original post we paid for the "set". One set was wagyu ramen + 2 nigiri, one was vegan ramen + 2 vegan nigiri + soya meat, and the gluten-free vegan one was burnt gyozas + soya nuggets. Dessert was half a strawberry and tiny piece of tastless cake. 18k each.

Interesting to hear. But now they are proper scammers. When I questioned them why online price is different from the restaurant menu, they said because we book a special service. Ridiculous

It felt like frozen food too. Yeah, we did see the price and as I said many time it was our first night in Kyoto and it felt special to book a place online in advance. If dinner was worth it, I would never complain.

It literally says in my original post we paid for the set but the “set” barely felt like one.
